Replacing the low beam lamp on a Lada Vesta.

Lada Vesta light bulbs for high and low beam meet international standards and are not inferior in quality to foreign analogues. Despite the general power rating, they differ in base.

The front-wheel drive VAZ cars produced have not changed since the mid-80s. Modifications and updates did not affect the basic parameters of the car. Lada X-ray and Vesta are new models of the brand, noticeably different from their predecessors. In addition to new units, components and appearance, Lada Vesta received modern electronic equipment and a lighting system. Now, for self-repair, owners need to know what kind of bulbs are in the Lada Vesta headlights.

Lighting lamps in Lada Vesta

The AvtoVAZ concern, following European standards and technical requirements, uses modern lamps on the Lada Vesta. The following are installed on the vehicle from the factory:

  • block headlight with low/high beam, direction indicators, daytime running lights and dimensions;
  • anti-fog headlight;
  • rear light with reverse lights, parking lights, brake light, and turn signal;
  • license plate light;
  • trunk light bulb;
  • glove compartment light bulb;
  • door threshold light bulb.

In the overall vehicle lighting system, the headlight unit consumes the largest amount of electricity generated by the generator.

Low beam light

For low beam on the Lada Vesta, halogen lighting elements of the H7 model are used; they are not expensive, but provide excellent light. H7 do not heat up even with particularly long use. Replacing the lighting fixture in the low beam unit is carried out similarly to the high beam:

  • The engine compartment opens;
  • The cover covering the low beam compartment is unscrewed;
  • The plugs and clamps are disconnected;
  • The lighting element is being replaced.

Often, car owners make a simultaneous change of all the lighting in the headlights of a Lada Vesta car at once.

Headlamp device

A block headlight is a design development that allows you to combine lamps in a single housing, each of which would do its own job. The light bulbs on the Vesta in the headlight unit have their own fastening elements, as well as places for installation.

The headlight contains the following lamps:

  • halogen low beam;
  • halogen high beam lamps;
  • turn signal lamps;
  • daytime running lights and dimensions.

The convenience is that, if necessary, the owner can replace each light bulb with his own hands without removing the entire headlight, and there is also the opportunity to buy a complete headlight unit without purchasing individual elements.

What kind of high and low beam lamps are on the Vesta?

Lada Vesta bulbs for high and low beam meet international standards and are not inferior in quality to foreign analogues. AvtoVAZ uses the following lamps on Vesta:

  • near – H7;
  • distant – H1.

The consumption of both is 55 W. Despite the general power rating, they differ in base.

Lada Vesta light bulbs have their own markings. Their designations are certified according to EEC:

  • near – H7;
  • distant – H1;
  • turn signal – PY21W;
  • daytime running lights (DRL) and dimensions – W21/5W, brand – Vanssi;
  • PTF – H16.

These names are easy to find in automotive stores or service centers.

Lamps used on Lada Vesta SV Cross

Since 2020, the Lada Vesta SV station wagon and the SV Cross, prepared for rough terrain, have been supplied to the automobile market along with the sedan. This car complemented the AvtoVAZ model range and became the most technologically advanced in the line.

The interior space in the SV Cross is less than in the same Largus, but the station wagon is superior to the Largus and the younger Grant in terms of quality and wealth of equipment. Despite some changes in the design of the car, the lamps on the Lada Vesta SV Cross are identical to those installed on the sedan.

How to change light bulbs on Vesta

Thanks to following international standards and close cooperation with Renault and Nissan, AvtoVAZ has ensured that replacing Lada Vesta lamps is not difficult. For 2020, there are many instructions with videos telling you how to change light bulbs correctly. The advantage is the price and good quality of the elements installed on Vesta.

Replacing headlight bulbs

The algorithm for replacing light bulbs on a Lada Vesta does not differ from similar instructions for lights installed on foreign-made cars.

The instructions for replacing light bulbs in a headlight unit are the same; they are removed in the same way:

  1. Turn the gray protective cap counterclockwise to remove it.
  2. Remove the electronic connector.
  3. Unclip the fastener and remove the light bulb.

The flask must not be touched with hands. Since the lamp is halogen, grease stains will cause it to burn out.

Replacing brake light bulbs

The stop and indicator lights on the Vesta are located in different places and change differently. To replace the side light, you need to peel back the trim on the rear fender, remove the socket from the light and unscrew the bulb. The brake light bulbs located in the headlamp are changed in the same way.

The lamps installed on Vesta, which duplicate the light in the lamps, are located on the trunk lid. To replace them, you need to carefully bend the upholstery panel, after removing the pistons with a screwdriver. Next, remove the sockets and take out the light bulbs themselves. Finally, you need to fasten the casing back.

Replacing lamps in turn signals

The front turn signal bulbs in the headlight unit are also easy to replace. To do this, grab the special protrusion from the back of the headlight and turn the turn signal lamp socket counterclockwise. Next, remove the lamp itself. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

To replace the turn signal repeater in the mirror, you need to remove the trim from the door pillar, then disconnect the connector and unscrew the mirror mounting bolt. Next, unclip the latches and detach the LED module assembly. Replace the LED module and install in reverse order

Replacing foglights

PTF lamps on Vesta often burn out. To replace them, the owner does not have to go to a car service center. To gain full access to the fog lights, you need to remove the front wheels, which is difficult, but if you have a jack and tools, you can do the replacement yourself. The removed wheels must be placed under the sills for insurance. After access to the fender liner is open, you should remove the protective cover and, by turning the light bulb counterclockwise, remove it. First you need to disconnect the block with wires.

There is another method for replacing PTF light bulbs - through the engine compartment, but it requires skills and additional tools.

Replacing side lights

Changing dimensions is no more difficult than other light bulbs. Holding the special protrusion, you need to rotate the cartridge and then finally remove it from the headlamp. Hold the socket in one hand and remove the light bulb from it with the other. If necessary, replace the cartridge seal gasket.

Replacing interior lighting bulbs

When using a car for a long time, the interior lighting bulbs need to be replaced. In order to change the elements in the ceiling lamp, you need to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. Then use a flat screwdriver to pry up the plastic housing of the lamp and remove it from the clamps. Finally, disconnect the electrical connector from the light bulb and remove it. It is important to remember that the lampshade is non-separable, and if a separate element fails, the complete lamp will have to be replaced.

Should I install halogen lights on Vesta?

Vesta owners, after several years of using the car and the expiration of the warranty period, decide to make changes. They use xenon or LED lamps in the headlights instead of standard halogens. In terms of durability rating, halogen headlights recommended by the manufacturer are the leaders in reviews, but this fact does not discourage car enthusiasts from experimenting. However, for installing LEDs and xenon lamps not specified by the manufacturer, the car owner may be held liable in the form of a fine.

AvtoVAZ cars are well known to domestic buyers. However, Vesta, released in 2020, differs from younger models. One of the differences is the lighting elements used in the headlights. If you know how to change lamps on a Lada Vesta, the owner can do this work on his own.
