According to the latest data, four restyled Lada Vesta cars have been assembled in the city on the Volga (the first restyling for the new model). The cars are ready to begin road tests and, according to some sources, are already wrapped in camouflage. The assembly of the cars was carried out by specialists from the Scientific and Technical Center (STC) of AvtoVAZ.

Lada Vesta for AvtoVAZ is a source of pride and the newest production model. For buyers, Lada Vesta is the most expensive, but at the same time, the most richly equipped and modern car. Despite the fact that the car is almost five years old, it continues to be improved and new modifications are built. Let’s find out right now what new Lada Vesta will show us in 2020 and how much it could cost a potential buyer. In fact, all the most important changes and improvements to Lada Vesta took place in 2020 - these are:

  1. the appearance of a new 1.8 engine with a capacity of 122 horsepower,
  2. new SW body (station wagon),

The appearance of another engine for the model has been announced for 2020 - a 1.4-liter 109-horsepower turbo engine, but the timing of this project has not yet been determined. In addition, the AvtoVAZ press service announced the release of a new automatic transmission and CVT.
The units are planned to be installed on all versions of Vesta and XRay. What will happen to the sports version? In April 2020, according to VAZ announcements, a sports version of the Lada Vesta sedan should be released. And this will not be a one-off, but a serial assembly of cars.

Production is promised to begin in February, and in April the first Lada Vesta Sport will find its first buyer. This version of the sedan will be equipped with a 1.8-liter engine, boosted to 149 horses. But this is not the limit, and by the end of the year, engineers are going to remove at least 180 horsepower from this volume. In addition to the engine, the sports Vesta will receive a modified manual transmission and other camshafts with changed phases. Visually, the sports version of the Lada Vesta resembles the WTCC racing version - they have similar body kits and body wraps.

The car is called Vesta Rally Sprint and is a sedan with a ground clearance 20 mm higher than the base one and independent suspension on all wheels. It is the suspension and design that will distinguish the car from a production sedan. The rear suspension is not a semi-independent torsion beam, as on stock, but two independent reinforced wishbones. Accordingly, the shock absorbers and springs were also replaced.

Small-scale production of the Vesta Rally Sprint should be established by February 2020 and this car, in theory, could compete with the serial Vesta SW station wagon.

Changes to the exterior of the restyled Lada Vesta

A test version of the program is already offered on the Play Market, but the full version will be presented only in 2020.

In 2020, the Lada Vesta family of cars received simply a huge number of all kinds of improvements and options. New configurations were also added, and some of the old ones were eliminated due to lack of use.

Improvements to the Lada Vesta sedan

For a long time, the Vesta in the sedan body remained unchanged, but with the advent of 2020, the hands of the designers got to it.
The Comfort, Luxury and Exclusive trim levels add disc brakes, but only for the rear wheels. Many did not like the fact that the car at this price does not have disc brakes; after much discussion of this point, AvtoVAZ finally decided to please Russian consumers with a new option. Also, the sedan car and the above-mentioned trim levels acquired a new central armrest, which replaced the old one. Among other things, this armrest provides a 12-volt socket, which can be used by passengers in the rear row of seats.

In addition to the armrest in 2020 cars, the adjustment of the heated front seats will change; now it will be three-stage, as a result of which the driver and passenger in the front seat will be able to adjust the heating power of the seats, adjusting it to themselves. And only one modification affected all sedan versions of the car at once - improved fastening of the muffler corrugation, which with the previous fastening sometimes emitted an unpleasant howl, and car owners had to solve this problem with the help of improvised means.

The Vesta station wagon also received a number of pleasant improvements and options. In the Luxe and Prestige trim levels, a 12-volt socket appeared in the center armrest. In addition, the Luxury package now has automatic headlight switch-off and interior lighting, which was previously available only in the Prestige package.

The station wagon in the cross modification received very few options compared to the others, this is due to the fact that it already had them from the moment of release. However, there are a few points worth noting. Absolutely all vehicle configurations received a twelve-volt socket in the rear row of seats, as well as automatic headlight switch-off; in addition, the Luxe Prestige package received the same socket in the center armrest.

The Bitoplev Vesta also did not go unnoticed by the manufacturer, just like all sedans, a boxed center armrest with a pre-installed socket is now installed in the car, seat heating has become three-stage, and the interior of the Luxury package is now illuminated with LED lamps.

Will there be deep technical changes on the restyled Vesta?

“The chassis should not undergo changes, although with restyling the Lada Vesta can be transferred to the B0 platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance.
The layout is the same as on the Lada Xray Cross, where the model combines design elements from the Lada Vesta and the B0 platform. The front suspension uses an independent suspension (similar to that used on Vesta) with McPherson struts, L-shaped “Vest” arms and a stabilizer bar, and the rear has a “Logan” semi-independent beam. Perhaps this will allow the model to better reveal handling and increase comfort. But since there is no exact information yet, we will not speculate on this matter. As soon as it becomes known for sure about Lada’s transition to a new platform from official sources, technical information about the improved capabilities of the restyled version compared to the current model will immediately appear.

And also about the technical changes on the Vesta: the power unit is 1.6-liter from 114 hp. With. produced by Nissan (HR16) and the Japanese CVT Jatco JF015E should also appear on the Lada Vesta towards the end of 2020.

The technique is the same

There are no plans to make amendments to the chassis, although there is information that the restyled Vesta may receive more components from the French B0 platform.

And of course, the updated Vesta will feature the long-awaited Jatco JF015E variator , which will be paired with Nissan’s 1.6-liter 113-horsepower engine. If prices should not increase significantly after the update, then you will definitely have to pay about 30-50 thousand extra for a new variator, if you compare Vesta with a “robot”.

It is assumed that the updated Lada Vesta will appear in 2020 , although the release date was previously announced as 2020. However, AvtoVAZ decided to take its time and complete all the tests at a leisurely pace. Moreover, minor modifications are made during assembly: a month ago they began installing new hinges that eliminated the gate effect; many car owners complained about them.
