The cost of developing the car was about 6.5 billion rubles. The first body of the pre-production Vesta was welded on November 5, 2014 in Izhevsk. Lada Vesta in the line of the domestic giant AvtoVAZ is a progressive and promising car. It is designed to replace the previously popular flagship Priora model on the assembly line. Thanks to their increase, passengers became much more comfortable inside the cabin, again in comparison with previously created models, where the dimensions were more modest.

The VAZ-21129 engine model has significantly more power and attractiveness. Unlike the VAZ-11189, this variation with the same engine volume of 1.6 liters has a power of 106 horsepower. The main difference leading to this difference in power is the number of valves. On the VAZ-11189 there are only eight of them, but in this version there are sixteen.
This engine of the new Lada Vesta will, in all likelihood, be available in the basic configuration, while for Grants and Priora it was installed only in Luxury vehicles. However, taking into account the greater mass of Vesta, the maximum speed and acceleration of the car are unlikely to be more powerful and pronounced than that of the same Priora on the VAZ-11189.
It is known for certain that the Lada Vesta hatchback will be equipped with power units of this type, and the VAZ-21129 will be available when purchasing the “Classic” model complete with a manual transmission. In general, the engine performs well on Russian roads. The only thing you should pay careful attention to is the timing belt: if it breaks, the engine valves can quickly become unusable. It is worth noting the high level of reliability of this engine. According to automotive experts, its durability with careful use and regular maintenance is almost one and a half times higher than that of a standard VAZ unit of the same volume.
This engine is planned for installation on the Lada Vesta coupe - thanks to it, the car will acquire expression and some claims to sportiness.
Whether the Lada Vesta will be available for sale with the option of installing a diesel engine is not yet entirely clear. Diesel engines are more economical - therefore, plant designers should think about this issue one way or another.
Only one point is unclear: will the VAZ-11189 engine be installed on the Lada Vesta, or will its use be finally recognized as having no particular meaning? According to many authoritative automotive experts, 87 horsepower for Vesta’s dimensions is really not serious, and for this reason, most likely, the VAZ-21129 will be the “junior” engine used for the “Classic” and “Comfort” trim levels.
