How to turn off the standard alarm on a viburnum

Factory shutdown method

To use it, you need to know the location of the special “Valet” button.
By interacting with it, you can put the car into service mode, thus turning off the alarm. This button can be located in different places. This depends on the model and make of the car. Most often it can be detected:

  • slightly to the right of the gas pedal;
  • slightly to the left of the clutch pedal;
  • within the fuse box or somewhere near it;
  • immediately under the steering wheel, in a small recess;
  • under the front panel.

Since this is a special service button, it will not be visible and easy to access (this makes no sense). If you cannot find the Valet button in the indicated places, you should study the operating instructions for the anti-theft system. Such information is key, so it will definitely be indicated there.

The alarm is turned off by simultaneously pressing the Valet and one of the pedals (sometimes you need to press two pedals at once). The most common combination is Valet and clutch pedal, after which the alarm will be disabled.

If you don't have an instruction booklet, you can try all the combinations of holding the Valet and pedals. First, you should press the pedals in order, and if this does not help, move on to combinations. You will need to repeat the action six times, but some anti-theft systems can block the car after just two attempts.

On modern cars, there is a different factory way to turn off the alarm. It differs from maneuvers with pedals, since you will have to interact exclusively with the Valet button and the ignition.

To do this, you need to take a few simple steps:

  • Open the door with a regular key. This will activate the security system, the siren, and the turn signals will flash.
  • Then turn on the ignition for a couple of seconds and turn it off immediately. The engine does not need to be started in all subsequent versions, only the ignition.
  • Then the Valet button is pressed and held for several seconds.
  • The alarm will emit a short siren, which will notify the driver that the car has entered emergency mode.

Each time the ignition is turned off, the car will emit two short beeps - another reminder that the emergency mode is activated.

How to properly configure immo on Kalina 2?

On car models Lada - Kalina 2, Priora, Granta, immobilizers are configured in the same way. Activation occurs only once. Moreover, this is done only when the car doors are closed.

Activation steps: first you need to insert the learning key into the ignition switch connector, then start the car. If the system has not been activated, then exactly six seconds later the immobilizer warning light on the instrument panel will light up. Once the activation is completed, the light will no longer bother you.

Now you can turn off the ignition. While the light is blinking at a frequency of five times per second, you must have time to remove the training key from the lock and insert the working key. Then you need to turn on the ignition again, and the key control unit buzzer makes three sounds in a row.

If no sound signals were heard and the immobilizer indicator light stopped blinking, then you have exceeded the system’s waiting time period and you need to start activation from the very beginning again, or the working key was trained in another system, or it may be that the system is simply not working condition.

Coded disarming

This method is more serious and leaves no chance for hijackers. Its essence lies in the presence of a special code, without knowing which it will not be possible to turn off the alarm and siren.

Initially the pin code is set to a relatively small number (often code 11), but a pin code of 96 will be used as an example.

Let's look at this method step by step:

  • Opening the car door when the alarm is activated, you will need to turn on the ignition.
  • Next, the Valet button is pressed so many times that it is identical to the first digit of the PIN code (in our case, this is done 9 times).
  • The ignition is then reactivated.
  • Now you need to press the service button 6 times (relative to the second digit of the code).
  • Immediately after the last press, the system will emit two or three short beeps, that is, it will go into emergency mode.

It is worth remembering that different anti-theft systems may use different methods of coded alarm disabling. For example, on alarm systems of the Mongoose brand, on versions BASE 100-400, the list of actions is the same:

  • Within 7 seconds, you must turn on the ignition three times and leave it on.
  • After this, the system will begin to emit rapid flashes.
  • As soon as the blinking frequency reaches 1 time per second, you should count a number equal to the specified lock code.
  • Immediately after this, the ignition must be turned off and the alarm will be disabled.

Causes of malfunctions and solutions

The most common immobilizer malfunctions are:

  • Lack of communication between the control unit and the vehicle and the key. Re-activating the blocker or replacing the battery in the key remote can help correct the situation.
  • Wetting of the internal parts of the unit. The element must be dismantled and dried. If after this the system continues to operate incorrectly, the device must be replaced.
  • Power supply circuit broken, fuse broken. The latter is located in the dashboard mounting block. The part needs to be inspected and replaced.

If, after replacing all the failed elements, the immobilizer continues to work incorrectly, the car must be taken to a car service center. Diagnostic and repair work will be carried out here.

How to turn off various types of alarms without a key fob?

Next, we will show you how to turn off the car security system on different types of alarms. For each case, you always need to open the doors of the vehicle with the key, and carry out the remaining actions while sitting in the driver’s seat:

To unlock a car with this alarm you must:

  • turn on the ignition;
  • press the Valet service button once;
  • turn off the ignition;
  • repeat points 2 and 3 again.

Immediately after this, the car's engine will be unlocked.

After opening the door, you need to start the ignition system for 3-4 seconds. When turning it back on, you should hold the key in the “On” position together with the service button for several seconds.

The system will emit an audible signal indicating that it has entered emergency mode.

This system does not have an individual approach to disabling the system: you just need to turn on the ignition and press Valet once. All this takes about 10 seconds from the moment the ignition is turned on, so the process cannot be delayed - the car’s engine will be blocked for a specific period of time (from 2 to 30 minutes).

4. Starline (A1, A2, A4, A8, A9).

Once the ignition is active, 3 presses on Valet are required (4 if model A8 or A9). This must be done within 20 seconds, otherwise the engine will be blocked by the anti-theft system. Then the ignition key is pulled out, and only after that a short beep will sound - a signal about emergency mode.

For Starline A6

There is no factory method for unlocking, but only using a PIN code. Therefore, the algorithm of actions will be different:

  • after turning on the ignition, 20 seconds are given;
  • this time should be enough to enter the first digit of the code using the service button (if the code is 14, then press Valet once);
  • then the ignition is turned off and on again, and the procedure is repeated for the second digit, that is, 4 clicks on Valet, according to the mentioned code;
  • As a result, the ignition must be turned off, otherwise the code will not be recognized by the system.

How to bypass the immobilizer on Kalina

It is possible to temporarily disable the immobilizer on Kalina 1, which is recommended for use when installing an anti-theft system with auto start. You can bypass the blocker yourself in the following ways:

  • Using a head unit with a key embedded. The chip is installed in a device located in the dashboard. When autostart is turned on, the relay deactivates the unit and the engine starts, bypassing the main circuit.
  • Using a keyless crawler. The system is complemented by a control device similar to an ignition key.

Bosch block M 7 4

Before you begin the shutdown process with your own hands, you need to prepare:

  • a computer with the Winflashecu v.1.14 application installed;
  • K-Line adapter and cable;
  • software for anti-theft systems with disabled immobilizer;
  • several cables of different lengths.

The process of disabling the engine blocker is carried out as follows:

  1. The battery terminals are removed, after which the large block of the engine control unit located in the engine compartment is disconnected. To disconnect, you need to remove the top cover and pull out the latch. The small block can remain on the block.
  2. The wires are connected to contacts A4 and B2. The cables will be used to supply auxiliary voltage. They are connected to the battery terminal using an intermediate switch. The connector is returned to its place and secured with a latch.
  3. The adapter is inserted into the diagnostic connector located in the passenger compartment. The required part can be found by removing the plastic trim of the center console.
  4. The computer is configured to transmit data at a speed of 38400 bps. After launching the Winflashecu program, set the necessary parameters (block type, port number) in the dialog box.
  5. Connectors A4 and B2 are provided with additional power. After turning on the ignition, the “No communication” notification is replaced by the inscription “Synchronization with the ECU.”
  6. The immobilizer data is saved in the computer. After this, the new software is loaded into the unit's memory.
  7. The additional power is turned off and the application closes.

How to turn off a car alarm

If the security module is out of order and does not respond to commands sent from the control panel, but at the same time gives an alarm, then the first step is to turn off the sound emitter (bell).

A siren installed on a car can be autonomous (powered by a built-in battery) or non-autonomous (powered by the vehicle’s on-board network).

  • Disabling a non-autonomous emitter.

To turn off such a device, it is enough to interrupt its power supply circuit. This can be done by removing the power wire terminals from the emitter body or cutting them (cut wires should be insulated).

  • Disabling the autonomous siren.

Video “Disabling the immobilizer on Kalina”

The channel “Elm327 Equipment for car diagnostics” showed the procedure for deactivating the standard blocker using a special connector.

There were several reasons why the Lada Kalina does not start, the starter does not turn, and the immobilizer is blinking. There are several reasons and each of them can cause different damage, but we will consider them all.

The video shows a problem with the immobilizer on Kalina:

Causes of alarm malfunction

To begin with, we will dwell in detail on the reasons why it is not possible to disable the car alarm using the key fob. Most often they are the following:

  • radio interference;
  • failure of the alarm key fob;
  • car battery discharge.

Radio interference

It may not be possible to unlock the car if there is interference that prevents the signal from the alarm remote control from reaching its target. Interference can be created, for example, by car alarms in a parking lot or other sources with a similar frequency of radio waves. Eliminating this reason is very simple. It is enough to bring the key fob closer to the alarm control unit, which is located on the driver's side, and try to unlock the car again.

Failure of the key fob

Perhaps the problem is not interference at all, but that the battery on your key fob is dead, or it is faulty for another reason. If you have a one-way key fob, press any button and see if the indicator light turns on. If this does not happen, the battery needs to be replaced. In the case of a two-way alarm, the battery charge level will be displayed on the key fob display. Once you find out that the problem is with the battery, you can replace it by purchasing a new one. To get into the car and drive to the nearest store that sells batteries, you can briefly “revive” a dead unit. Remove it from the key fob and tap it with a small hard object to create some deformation. It is as a result of deformation that the battery will regain activity for a short time.

It may turn out that after replacing the battery, the situation did not improve. Then try opening the car using the spare key fob. If this helps, then your main key fob is broken. If disarming the car using a spare key fob also didn’t work, you should check the car’s battery.

Car battery drain

To find out if the battery is the source of your problem, you need to be inside the car. This can be done using a key to open the car doors. If the battery is very discharged, then after opening the door, the alarm may not go off, but most likely you will continue to act under the alarming sounds of the siren.

Once you are in the driver's seat, turn on the ignition and look at the instrument panel. If the indicators on it barely light up, or a message appears indicating that the battery is low, your assumption has been confirmed. You can restore the battery's functionality by lighting it from another car.

Causes of malfunction

Let us list the reasons for the occurrence of such a phenomenon as a non-working starter and a flashing immobilizer. First, it’s worth noting that it all depends on the intensity of the blinking, but let’s take the most common concept. So, the reasons for the malfunction:

    The most deplorable and fatal option is the ECU burned out . This usually happens because liquid has gotten into it.

Inspection of the ECU on Kalina

It is best to determine all these reasons at a car service center, since this is not often possible with your own hands.

ECU burned out

The insides of the ECU block are filled with antifreeze, we are trying to fix it

If the ECU burns out, then you can “dry your oars” because the owner ended up with a substantial amount of money. Often, this happens due to the fault of the motorists themselves, who try to install additions to the car themselves, or simply spill coffee on the dashboard.

This malfunction can be treated by replacing the control unit and updating the firmware. The procedure is expensive, so it is recommended to treat the car carefully, especially inside.

The most important problem is that there is a design flaw: the ENGINE CONTROL UNIT is installed in such a way that if the hood seal leaks, it floods with water. And the block “comes to a halt.”

To prevent this from happening, we recommend that you move the engine control unit to another location, higher, under the panel.

Ignition key and lock

Out of sync ignition keys. Key training will be required

A malfunction of the key or ignition switch can only be treated in one way - by replacing them. In this case, you will have to flash the same car control unit. This is not a critical malfunction, but it will cause trouble and hassle.

While checking the ignition switch

Immobilizer

First, it’s worth determining why the immobilizer started flashing. This can be done according to the error diagnosis manual. But, in any case, most motorists recommend replacing it. This is not a simple matter and the owner will drink a lot of blood. You can try to deactivate it, more details here.

Starter or relay failure

We check the contacts on the starter and its relay

Let's consider this option also as a coincidence. If the immobilizer flashes and the starter does not turn, then this is a “normal” phenomenon for the starter, since it will not be supplied with power for anti-theft purposes. But it doesn’t hurt to check the contact between the starter and the relay. You can close the starter directly (see video).

How to turn off the alarm without using a key fob

Now let's carefully study ways to turn off the alarm on a car without using a key fob. There are two such methods:

  • normal emergency disarming;
  • coded disarming.

In both cases, you must know exactly where in your car the secret “Valet” button is located, which is necessary to put the car into service mode.

Options for the location of the “Valet” button can be as follows:

  • in the area of the driver's pedals;
  • in the area of the fuse box;
  • behind the driver's glove compartment;
  • under a torpedo;
  • under the steering column.

If a secret button is not found in any of the listed places, we recommend calling the previous owner of the car or looking for information about the location of the button we are interested in in the alarm instructions, or contacting the company that installed the alarm with this question.

Normal emergency disarming without key fob

To turn off the alarm without using a key fob, you need to know the correct algorithm. It depends on what kind of alarm is on your car, and comes down to various combinations of turning the ignition on/off and pressing the “Valet” button.

Usually all the information is in the alarm instructions or in the car's operating brochure. If you have not found the information you need, you can contact the specialists of the company that installed the alarm system for you.

Coded disarming without key fob

You can also disarm the car using a special pin code, which is a two-digit or four-digit number.

To unlock a car using a code, use approximately the following algorithm:

  1. turn on the ignition;
  2. press the “Valet” button the number of times corresponding to each digit of the code combination;
  3. after the next manipulation of the ignition, the operation is repeated for the next digit until the code value is entered completely.

Alarm Alligator

A simple list of actions:

  1. We open the car with the key.
  2. Turn on the ignition.
  3. We manage within 10-15 seconds. Press the “Valet” button once.

As a result, the alarm mode will turn off and you can start the car without difficulty.

The alarm code for the Alligator system is as follows:

  1. We open the car with the key.
  2. Turn on the ignition.
  3. Turn it off and turn it on again.
  4. We have time in 10-15 seconds to press the “Valet” button a number of times equal to the 1st digit of the code.
  5. We repeat point 3.
  6. Repeat step 4 for the 2nd digit of the code.
  7. We repeat point 3.
  8. If you did everything correctly, the alarm will be successfully turned off, otherwise, turn off the ignition and go to step 2.

Alarm StarLine

StarLine A1, A2, A4, A8, A9

To disable you need:

  1. We open the car with the key.
  2. Turn on the ignition.
  3. Press the “Valet” button 3 times (4 times for models A8 and A9) over a period of 20 seconds.
  4. Turn off the ignition.
  5. The car will be unlocked and ready to go.

StarLine A6 and coded alarm disabling for other models

In the case of the StarLine A6 model, disabling the alarm is only possible using a code. If a personal code is set for models A1, A2, A4, A8, A9, then the algorithm will be exactly the same:

  1. We open the car with the key.
  2. Turn on the ignition.
  3. Over a period of 20 seconds. Press the “Valet” button the number of times corresponding to the 1st digit of the code.
  4. Turn off and turn on the ignition.
  5. Repeat step 3 for the 2nd digit of the code.
  6. Turn off the ignition.
  7. The car will wake up from alarm mode and you will be able to drive off.

Alarm Scher-Khan

Scher-Khan Magicar II

Quite a simple algorithm:

  1. We open the car with the key.
  2. In 3 sec. you need to have time to turn the ignition from the “ACC” position to the “ON” position 4 times.
  3. Turn off the ignition.
  4. As a result, the siren will turn off, the side lights will flash 1 time, and 2 more times after 6 s.
  5. After this you will be able to start.

Scher-Khan Magicar IV

The following actions need to be taken:

  1. We open the car with the key.
  2. In 4 sec. you need to have time to turn the ignition from the “LOCK” position to the “ON” position 3 times.
  3. Turn off the ignition.
  4. As a result, the alarm mode will turn off, the side lights will flash 1 time, and 2 more times after 5 s.
  5. Now you can start the car.

Scher-Khan Magicar 6

Here you need to know the code, which initially (if you did not change this value yourself) is “1111”:

  1. We open the car with the key.
  2. In 4 sec. you need to have time to turn the key in the ignition switch from the “LOCK” position to the “ON” position 3 times.
  3. Turn off the ignition.
  4. We repeat step 2, only the number of times the key positions are changed will be equal to the 1st digit of the code.
  5. We repeat point 3.
  6. After 4 sec. the alarm will blink once, indicating the possibility of entering the next digit of the code.
  7. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all code numbers have been entered. In between, we wait for permission to enter the next digit.
  8. After entering the 4th digit, the alarm will blink 2 times.
  9. If the code is correct, the siren will turn off and you can start the car.

The following video shows how you can disarm your car without using the key fob:

Where is

The immobilizer on Kalina can be located deep in the dashboard near the central air conditioner pipe. The antenna unit, shaped like a ring, is located in the ignition switch. The chip is built into the head of the key; the information is read when the engine starts. You can access the blocker as follows:

  • disconnect the power cables of the on-board network from the battery;
  • pull out the ashtray and unscrew the 4 bolts holding the housing (the latter is removed from the socket);
  • remove the plugs located near the service alarm button;
  • Unscrew 2 screws located under the plugs;
  • remove the rotary air distributors;
  • remove the central decorative trim by removing it from the clamps;
  • disconnect electrical cables leading to electronic devices installed on the dashboard;
  • dismantle the standard unit, which is located under the central air duct;
  • disconnect the immobilizer power cable (to do this, press the latch).

Before activating the immobilizer on the 2 Kalina, you need to fill the fuel tank. This will prevent interruptions in the operation of the blocker caused by an emergency buzzer warning about a lack of gasoline. Activating the immobilizer unit requires the following steps:

  • closing car doors;
  • inserting the key into the lock and turning on the ignition;
  • turning off the ignition and removing the key (performed after 3 buzzer signals);
  • ignition activation (carried out using the black key included in the immobilizer kit);
  • engine shutdown (performed after 5 buzzer signals);
  • installing a red key and activating the ignition;
  • engine shutdown, performed after 5 buzzer signals (the key is left in the lock);
  • activation of the ignition (carried out within 5 seconds after the appearance of 1 buzzer signal);
  • wait 5 seconds (after this time the hazard warning lights start flashing and the horn sounds an audible warning);
  • turning off the ignition (leaving the key in the lock, wait until the lock indicator on the dashboard disappears).

Some cars notify the user not with a sound, but with a light indication. The immobilizer lamp that lights up on the dashboard starts flashing.
