Several factories answer all our rich requests, but the consumer most often trusts time-tested Samara. But even here there is a choice. For fun, you can compare two cars - VAZ 2112 and VAZ 2114.

Kill me with beauty

The design of these two cars is puzzling for several reasons. But if we need to compare exactly two generations of VAZ front-wheel drive cars, then it would be logical to start with the design, since they are met anyway by their clothes. So 2114 doesn’t fit into any gates even with the design of the late 80s. What the designers wanted to say by covering the entire nine with cheap plastic is unclear, but this act looks like a mockery of the people’s favorite five-door hatchback. This, of course, is a subjective opinion, but how expedient it was to start a story with front headlights of just such a sad shape is unclear. The angular, polished design of the nine disappeared, and the newfangled remnant did not work out. In short, we don't like 2114.

The situation with 2112 is completely opposite. Contrary to all fears, the sedan hatchback turned out to be quite good. The only thing that confuses me is the somewhat visually heavy food. Even when owners lift the suspension, this does not prevent the feeling of heaviness. In general, the design of the tenth family looks very decent, even taking into account the advanced age of development. You can feel the dynamics, but at the same time there is no inflated aggressiveness. Dozens look friendly and do not give in even to the provocations of the tuners. Let's finish with the design here, let's move on to more significant things.

Safety

Despite the fact that VAZ cars are not tested for safety according to European methods, the consumer must at least somehow understand how safe cars of the ninth and tenth families are. Nothing comforting can be said about 2114. According to tests by independent laboratories, the car turned out to be head and shoulders worse than the Nine for completely unknown reasons, since the platform and body are actually the same. 2114 received serious damage during testing, the body could not be restored, and the dummy driver received complex injuries to his dummy brain and legs. This is at a speed of 64 km/h.

The top ten was also beaten, but strangely enough, its body turned out to be stronger than 2114. So, if you look at the latest modifications, there are absolutely no differences in the internal combustion engines between these models, and accordingly, the power of the power units will be at the same level.

2114 has a more ancient body than 2112, but this did not stop it from being made more elegant. Even the standard instrumentation looks a little more interesting than that of the 2112. It is not clear why, but the 2114 has much less creaks, crackles and play in the buttons and control levers than the twelfth. In addition, the two-piece allows you to fold the back of the rear row of seats not completely, but in parts, which is much more convenient when transporting long cargo.

• The new production platform gives the 2112 a more attractive appearance;
• In terms of interior comfort and spaciousness, the characteristics are identical. The difference is the lack of climate control and heated front seats on 2114;
• Air conditioning is not provided on both models;
• Despite the fact that VAZs have European-style panels installed, the torpedo on the 2114 looks better;
• Noise insulation is at a fairly low level, which is typical for all the VAZ line;
• The vibration from the engine is felt much stronger in the cabin of the 2112;
• The luggage compartment of the 2112 is 89 liters larger, which gives it the right to be called wider;

Despite a significant number of pros and cons, it is not possible to clearly determine which is better than the VAZ 2112 or VAZ 2114. One has more advantages within the city limits, the other outside it. Each buyer must independently select a car based on the geography of its further operation.

Technical data

Since the units at the car plant are wandering, it is difficult to say which is better than the VAZ 2112 or VAZ 2114 in this case. However, if we want a more productive engine, then the eight-valve 2114 will be already archaic. These cars are powered by equally lousy gasoline, and if the eight-valve 2114, by and large, doesn’t care what is poured into it, then the 2112 is much more picky in this regard. The installation of the catalyst and injector affects it, so you can’t fill it with anything in 2112. Of course, 2114 is cheaper to operate, and its market price is lower. But if you want to have a hatchback that is as modern as possible, then 2112 will be just right. Is the VAZ-2112 better than the VAZ-2114

The VAZ-2112 is an improved version of the VAZ-2110, and such cars began to be assembled in the Soviet Union. In 1999, the very first cars of this kind began to appear. But 2112 is an improved series of 2109. This car is similar to Samara, but has a more powerful engine, a different chassis and, of course, a different design. 1. Motorists believe that the 2114 body looks better than the 2112. Although both have common features. But the fourteenth has improved details of the side and front parts. 2. The cars are almost identical in body size. The interior is similar in the instrument panel and steering wheel. The VAZ-2112 already has a heater control panel, a door opening indicator and a clock. They say that in the twelfth the cabin is much cramped and less comfortable than in its competitor.
3. The trunk is something that is very comfortable in these cars. After all, you can hide a spare tire under the shelf and there is plenty of space for storing tools.
4. The VAZ-2114 has a well-equipped noise reduction system, which receives a lot of positive reviews, despite the fact that the material from which it is made is not of the best quality. There is also a more spacious and comfortable interior.
5. If we talk about the engine in the VAZ-2112, then it is well made. It has undergone some transformations compared to the first models of this production. The acceleration of this car is very fast, from 12 to 14 seconds. They say that this car is very playful and obedient. The transmission is five-speed and has a manual transmission. The VAZ-2114 does not have such laudatory reviews, because they say that the gearbox of the previous car is much more reliable.
