Of course, the car will not acquire exclusive aerodynamic characteristics. You can order the installation of the spoiler either at a car service center or do it yourself.

It all depends on your desire and budget capabilities. The installation procedure is more than simple; it won’t be difficult to handle it yourself. When starting work, it is necessary to thoroughly degrease the surface of the fifth door, from above and to the level of the headlights.

A special feature of installing a spoiler on the Lada Kalina station wagon, unlike the Lada Kalina hatchback, sedan and Kalina sport, is the absence of bolt fastenings. If dismantling is necessary, there will be no defects left on the surface of the door.

After preparing the surface, we make the necessary markings. We mark all the corner points where the spoiler contacts the car. It's better to double check everything several times. The fastening mechanism is double-sided tape. This is why you should ideally prepare the surface of the trunk. It is best to carry out the work with rubber gloves so as not to leave greasy marks on the surface.

When starting installation, we will peel back the protective tape at the nodal points and carry out preliminary fixation. The spoiler of the Lada Kalina station wagon should fit perfectly. Only after making sure of this can you begin the final fastening by pulling out the protective film of the tape from under the part. Using controlled, strong pressure, secure the spoiler. The fact is that fat is an ether of the triatomic alcohol glycerol. And another alcohol, especially a monohydric one, will not destroy it. Alcohol only dehydrates and disinfects. Acetone mixtures remove fats. But acetone can also dissolve paints, so it is not advisable to use it on a car. Special automotive degreasers should be used. After treatment, you should wait a few minutes for the residue to evaporate.
2. Slightly remove the protective film from the adhesive tape in the corners and at the bottom. Place the spoiler on the fifth door, press it lightly and make sure that all surfaces fit tightly. There should not be any gaps, even the smallest ones.
3. Mark control points (for example, put notes on the car body and spoiler with a marker, which you will then combine). Dots are placed in the upper corners and below.
4. Now you can remove a little more of the protective film, but leave its end on top so that you can pull it out later. There should be 4 protruding tabs - 2 side and two on top, which are actually one piece of film.
5. Now we apply it strictly at the previously marked points (it is in this position that we have already checked the complete fit). Carefully pull the film from above by the strap and press lightly. We do the same on the sides.

Advantages of a sedan aerowing

Of course, the Kalina Sport is a remarkable car, but the most striking impression from the Lada Kalina family of cars is made by a sedan with an installed aero wing. It is worth immediately noting that the aerodynamic performance of the car will change when reaching a speed of 120 km/h and above. Moreover, the wing must be attached to a rigid part of the car, and the wing itself must be made of metal.

Therefore, a sedan with an installed spoiler is only a model with an improved exterior, but not technical characteristics. In this case, the installation of an aero wing should be entrusted to professionals, since it is much more complicated than installing a spoiler on a Lada station wagon or Kalina hatchback. One cannot cope with such a procedure. If you find a partner, the following algorithm of actions will help you accomplish your plan.

1. Apply masking tape to the fender and trunk. This is necessary so as not to spoil the paint when drilling holes, and also for ease of marking.
2. We carry out markings by installing and centering the airfoil. We use a regular pencil or pen. We mark holes for future fasteners.
3. The most painstaking part of the job is drilling the holes. There is no need to rush here. We start with the smallest drill and gradually increase the size until we reach the desired diameter. Usually fastening is carried out with 3.5 mm screws. Under no circumstances should we remove metal chips with our hands. The surface will immediately become covered with scratches. Only blowing is allowed.
4. Use double-sided tape to secure the spoiler to the lid. This is necessary to drill the spoiler through the holes in the trunk. Without this procedure, it may crack when tightening the bolts.
5. We remove all the masking tape and process all the holes for metal burrs. We treat the joints between the air wing and the trunk with alcohol.
6. We place the spoiler on the adhesive-sealant. Starting from this step, a partner is actively involved in the work. We begin docking one by one. First on the left side. The right one is held in the air, without touching the trunk, by a partner. We tighten the bolts, but do not tighten them all the way. We repeat the procedure on the right.
7. Tighten the screws and remove excess sealant.
8. To give the inside of the trunk an aesthetic appearance, paint the screw heads.
9. Let it dry for a day without closing the trunk lid.

Finally, I had some free time and decided to start installing a spoiler on the Lada Kalina. A car with a spoiler from Kalina Sport looks more beautiful in my opinion. In this article I will describe all stages of the installation, and also publish photographs of the installation process.

I purchased the spoiler a long time ago. Painted with original paint to match the body color.

The most interesting question is how to install a spoiler on a viburnum, first I looked at how the spoiler is installed at the factory. The idea is that there are 2 permanent studs on the spoiler closer to the center, and bolts are screwed into the sides. The spoiler is attached to one layer of metal and larger diameter holes are drilled from the inside in order to tighten the spoiler; the holes are hidden with rubber plugs.

People install it differently, some use only 2 bolts out of 4, some only use tape, I decided to do it completely - as it was done from the factory!

Having decided on such an improvement of the Lada Kalina 2, you should understand that, of course, neither the hatchback nor the station wagon will acquire exclusive aerodynamic characteristics. Whatever method you choose, installation work begins in the same way - first of all, the surface of the fifth door is degreased (from the very top to the headlights). Then the marking is performed, which will not be superfluous to double-check several times.

First, you should perform preliminary fixation and check that the wing fits perfectly to the body of the Lada Kalina 2 station wagon. Having convinced of this, the final fastening is carried out: the protective tape of the adhesive tape is completely removed and strong pressure is applied to the mounted part. This method is the simplest and does not take much time.

With the Lada Kalina 2 hatchback, things are much more serious, because in order to fix the spoiler on it, you will have to drill through the body. Here you also need perfect markings. To preserve the paint, it is necessary to stick adhesive tape (painting tape) on the surface where the wing should be located, and lubricate the drilling areas with plasticine. After this, you can proceed directly to drilling.

It is recommended to start with a centering drill of 6, and then the resulting holes will need to be drilled to a diameter of 7 mm. This will allow you to freely adjust the spoiler later. You will have to drill a hole large enough on the inside of the fifth door so that the washer can fit in there. At the end of drilling, the edges of the holes should be sanded and a special anti-corrosion coating should be applied to them. Now you can begin the actual installation of the wing you have chosen. At the end of this work, we must not forget about the sealant, which must be used to lubricate all the holes.

• silicone-based sealant or glue;

• mounting adhesive tape;
• 4 silicone rubber bands;
• 2 small washers;
• 2 wide washers;
• paint matching the color of the car;
• 2 short (compared to factory) studs;
• 4 nuts.

The peculiarities of attaching the spoiler are that it is necessary to drill 4 holes for the “Kalina 2” (hatchback). Due to the fact that the roof of the model has a semicircular shape, the screws must be located at an angle. It is not possible to apply the product to the roof of a car due to the sale of models with built-in screws. For this reason, the work requires care and high precision when drilling holes in order to position the tuning element as evenly as possible.

Installation process

The algorithm for performing work on installing products is as follows:

• Apply paper tape to the place where you drill the holes for installation. It is designed to prevent scratching of the paintwork on the door during fitting. You can also mark the drilling locations on it.
• Unscrew all the studs from the spoiler. Attach it to the edge of the trunk with the central fasteners (they are not removable). It is important to install the part at the boundary between the trunk door and the roof. Do not block the gap between the door and the roof, otherwise the installed product will touch the roof paintwork. Leave equal small gaps on the right and left.
