f7-Heater electric motor. Windshield washer motor. Electric motors for headlight cleaners (in operating mode). Cigarette lighter. Glove box lighting lamp. Relay for turning on the heated rear window (winding). What exactly cannot be said definitely, you need to go through it one by one, wire by wire.
If the rated fuse burns out, you need to do the following.
- Turn off the controls of all electrical consumers protected by this fuse.
- Instead of this fuse, connect a 21W auto lamp.
- Turn on one device at a time until the lamp lights up at full heat.
As soon as the 21W lamp lights up, turn off the electrical circuit of this device to ensure that the lamp goes out. This will leave you with a shorted wire in your hands.
Why the VAZ 2114 stove fan does not work, causes and malfunctions
Welcome, friends, to the DIY auto repair website. When the weather gets colder, driving in a car is not much fun.
The only hope is that you can warm up the car and turn on the heating. But bad luck - the stove fan stopped working.
Naturally, in this case there can be no talk of effective heating of the interior. The only salvation is to repair the device.
Operating principle of the stove (heater)
In many VAZ models (including 2114), the stove works according to the following principle. Using the heater tap, you turn on the coolant supply.
After this, antifreeze heated to 90-95 degrees is supplied to the radiator. The next step is to adjust the rotation speed of the stove fan (usually there are three positions).
All that remains is to set the dampers and direct the air into the cabin, onto the windshield or onto your feet.
If the fan of the VAZ 2114 stove does not work, then the entire system turns out to be ineffective. Warm air will flow inside the car, but very slowly. As a result, you will be able to heat up very slowly.
Problems with Samsung printers
Some failures can be corrected independently and do not require the intervention of service specialists. To facilitate identification, each error is assigned its own code. It is displayed on the printer display or computer screen. The most common types of Samsung printer problems are as follows:
- Code A1-1110 indicates problems with the board's motor. If turning the printer off and on does not help, then it needs permanent repair;
- Codes C1-1110, C1-1120 and C1-1140 indicate the need to replace the cartridge. To eliminate the error, just install a new cartridge or refill the used one;
- Code C1-1411 indicates that the cartridge is missing or that the printer cannot detect it. In this case, you should install or reinstall the cartridge;
- Code C1-1512 means that a cartridge that is incompatible with this printer model is installed. To resolve the error, it must be replaced or reinstalled. If the required cartridge is installed in the device, persistence of the error indicates that the device is faulty;
- Codes H1-1210 and M1-1110 correspond to a paper jam in one of the paper trays;
- Code M1-1610 indicates a paper jam in the bypass tray;
- Codes M2-1110 and M2-2110 indicate a paper jam inside the printer;
- Code M2-2310 indicates a paper jam at the bottom of the duplex;
- Code M3-1110 means that the paper is jammed at the exit. In all such cases, it must be carefully removed to continue operation;
- Codes H1-1252, M1-5112 and M1-5612 indicate there is no paper in the trays. To eliminate such failures, simply place the paper in the required tray;
- Code M3-2130 corresponds to the output tray being filled. It must be cleared of accumulated documents;
- Code S2-4110 indicates that the printer door is open. To continue working, it must be closed;
- Codes S6-3123 and S6-3128 indicate network problems. When they appear, you should turn the printer off and on. If the failure persists, a more thorough inspection is required;
- Codes U1-2320 and U1-2340 mean that the stove is overheating;
- Code U1-2330 indicates low temperature in the oven;
- Codes U2-1111 and U2-1113 correspond to laser errors. It is not recommended to fix the last three types of failures yourself.
In general, the most important requirement for the smooth operation of printing equipment is timely refilling of Samsung MFPs or printers from the same manufacturer, as well as regular maintenance and cleaning. Properly organized care allows you to avoid most of these problems.
Many motorists have encountered the fact that the heater fan on a VAZ-2114 stopped working. There are many reasons for this effect, and they can occur at any time. So, in this article, we will look at the reasons why the heater fan may not work, as well as methods of elimination.
The video below describes the process of troubleshooting and repair in a situation when the stove fan does not work:
Reasons why the VAZ 2114 heater fan does not work
There are several reasons why the stove fan does not work:
1. The fuse insert burned out. This malfunction is the most common. The solution in this case is simple - find the fuse and replace it.
In the VAZ 2114 it is located in the common block - F7, rated current - 30A. But you should know that the fan fuse powers not only the stove, but also a number of other consumers - heated rear window, headlight washers, cigarette lighter and lighting in the glove compartment.
In general, the situation with the fuse is twofold. On the one hand, it is easy to change, but on the other, there must be a reason for the burnout.
Therefore, the main task is to check the wiring and try to find a short circuit. Otherwise, the new fuse will suffer the same fate.
2. Poor quality of contact in the mounting block. One of the most popular diseases is oxidation or insufficient clamping of the contact feeding the unit. Often this is the reason why the heater motor does not work.
Attention! To diagnose the problem, move the harness with wires going into the block. If the engine starts to work, then carry out a small inspection of the contact group.
3. Problems with the ignition relay are another cause of fan failure. In this case, the stove will turn on periodically (for example, only when the engine is warm).
If the fault is confirmed, replace the relay. In the VAZ 2114 it is located under the dashboard.
4. The stove starts working only in the third (extreme) position. Here the conclusion is obvious - the resistor is faulty.
As a rule, the first and second positions imply powering the fan through an additional resistance.
If it fails, then power is not supplied to the device. The peculiarity of the third position is that the voltage is supplied directly, bypassing additional elements.
5. The switch has failed. Often the speed position switch itself “jams up”. In this case, the fan will start from time to time.
To verify this version or refute it, prepare a 12-volt light bulb and solder two wires to it.
Now you can remove the center console to get to the switch on the back side.
Possible causes of a malfunction of the heater fan on a VAZ-2114
Heater fan installed on a car
Before eliminating a malfunction that has occurred, it is necessary to establish the causes of its occurrence.
So, according to the experience of many motorists, the most common reasons are:
- Fuse blown.
- Failure of the contact group.
- Relay failure.
- Resistor.
- Switch.
- The fan motor burned out.
Now that the causes have been discussed, we can move directly to elimination methods.
Elimination methods
Many motorists think that a heater fan failure is associated only with a fuse or combustion of the motor that turns it, but this is far from the case. Let's consider all possible reasons in more detail.
Fuse blown
Mounting fuse block where the heater fan fuse is installed
The most common cause of all auto electrician troubles are fuses that fail.
So, in the case of a fan, the first thing you need to do is check the integrity of the fuse. If it is burnt out, it must be replaced with a new one. If this does not help, then you need to look for the reason elsewhere.
The heater fan fuse is marked with an arrow in the diagram.
You can find the fuse in the mounting block marked F7 .
Since the fan requires a lot of energy consumption, the rated current is 20A , so the fuse must be set no less than this figure.
Failure of the contact group
Another reason that is quite common in cars is oxidation of the contact group. To eliminate this malfunction, you need to clean the contact connections or simply move them.
Since the mounting block is located under the hood and water can get into it, it is necessary to protect it from moisture. You can do this in this simple way.
It often happened that the connections and connectors themselves had to be changed because they failed and were completely destroyed due to corrosion.
Relay failure
Relay block on a car
A relay failure will cause the stove fan to turn on briefly.
Sometimes, as practice shows, it may not turn on the first time, or only when the power unit is heated. The solution is quite simple - replacing the relay . You can find it under the dashboard of your car.
Resistor
The process of dismantling the heater resistor
A resistor malfunction occurs when the stove operates only in the extreme right position.
In this case, power will not be supplied, but only in the right position it is supplied directly, bypassing all other elements. Therefore, to eliminate the malfunction it is necessary to replace the part that has failed.
Switch
A fairly common malfunction is considered to be a failure of the switch or simply a breakdown of the contact connections.
Of course, it is not recommended to carry out repair operations, since incorrect restoration of an element, especially in the electrical part, can lead to the others breaking down. So, the manufacturer suggests that car enthusiasts with experience in DIY repairs recommend replacing the complete heater control unit.
The principle of operation of the VAZ 2114 stove
The design features and operating principle of the heating system are identical in almost all VAZ models. When you turn on the stove using the regulator. located inside the car, the system supplies antifreeze to the radiator (the temperature of which after warming up is approximately 90 degrees). Next, the fan is turned on and can operate at one of three speed modes.
The fan creates a directed air flow that circulates from the outside of the heating system into the vehicle interior. Using control flaps, the driver can choose one of three heating zones - feet, windshield or car interior.
The VAZ 2114 stove fan is one of the key parts of the entire heating system, when it fails, the heating efficiency decreases to almost zero. If the heater fan does not work, then the hot air heated by the radiator simply does not enter the cabin in the required quantity, and it may take 2-3 hours to heat the car, which should normally take 5-10 minutes.

And so, here is a list of all components of the scheme:
- Mounting block (aka fuse block).
- Egnition lock.
- Ignition switch relief relay.
- Heater fan speed switch.
- Additional resistors.
- Stove motor.
- Rear window heating switch with warning lamp.
- Rear window heating element.
Causes of heating system malfunction
If the VAZ 2114 stove does not work, then the reasons for this must be sought among the following possible malfunctions:
Heater fuse location (F7)
A failed stove fuse is one of the most common, and at the same time easy to repair faults.
The fourteenth is equipped with a heater fuse of type F7, with a current strength of 30 A. It is worth noting that a failed heater fuse will also cause the cigarette lighter and glove compartment lighting to fail to operate. electric water supply pump for cleaning headlights. and heated rear window, since all these systems operate from one fuse.
Situations often occur when installed fuses blow out one after another - the reason for this may be a short circuit, to identify the source of which you will have to go through the entire safety circuit
- Lack of contact inside the mounting block
Also a fairly common problem, the cause of which is the oxidation of wires during operation. The solution is quite simple; you need to sort out the wiring in the block in which they are fastened in front of the mounting block, and, if necessary, replace the contact group.
A stuck ignition relay can also be the reason why the heater fan on a VAZ 2114 does not work. This is revealed quite simply - if the fan starts working only when the car’s engine has completely warmed up, then the problem is due to the ignition relay. To eliminate them, you will need to completely replace the relay.
- The stove does not work in speed modes 1 and 2
If the fan turns on only at maximum speed (there are 3 in total), then the heater resistor needs to be changed. The design features of the heating system are such that in speed modes 1 and 2 the fan is powered through an additional resistor, and in mode 3 - directly from the battery.
- Problems with the fan motor
If the VAZ 2114 cooling fan does not work, but all of the above problems have been eliminated, then one reason remains - a failed VAZ 2114 heater motor. It can either burn out or have poor contact with the power supply due to loose mass, and the fan brushes also often get stuck.
You will need to replace the heater motor with a new one, because if it starts to “stand out”, then this will happen repeatedly in the future.
Causes of malfunction
As mentioned earlier, failure of the heating system can be due to a number of reasons:
- Electric motor malfunction;
- Insufficient amount of antifreeze in the system;
- Radiator failure;
- Faulty heating tap;
- Broken thermostat;
- Burnt-out BC gasket;
- Reducing pressure inside the system;
- Sometimes the radiator gets clogged;
- An air lock has formed.
After listing all possible types of faults, you should consider the main ones separately in order to better study the problems that are most likely to occur.
Thermostat
First of all, you need to start the motor and check the operation of the fan in each available mode. If no extraneous noise occurs during rotation, you will have to begin repairs. A broken thermostat is one of the most common problems that arise during the operation of a heating system. In this case, the coolant circulating through the circuit cannot reach the optimal temperature. Most often the stove fails for this reason.
VAZ 2114 stove fan stopped working
Broken tap
The heating system often does not work precisely because the tap is faulty. Sometimes this element simply does not open all the way. This may be due to the following reasons:
- The faucet has become completely unusable and therefore must be replaced immediately;
- The attachment is not functioning properly due to the heater cable located near the pedal assembly not being properly secured or reshaped. To eliminate such
malfunction, just lift the cable with ordinary pliers. The need to replace the valve arises when there is a problem with the supply of heated air mass. If stains form on the floor that smell like antifreeze, and there is a greasy coating on the glass, then there is a similar malfunction.
Fan problems
To check, you need to start the engine and turn off the heating system. Sometimes the heater fan in a VAZ 2114 car does not work. The causes of such a malfunction most often lie in blown fuses located immediately behind the stove.

Radiator problems
Many car owners simply do not pay attention to radiators when operating their vehicles in the summer season. Therefore, when starting the heating system in winter, it turns out that the radiator is unsuitable for use.
From time to time, the radiator becomes clogged with dirt or debris, which can cause a malfunction of this element of the car interior heating system. The flow of heated air mass in such cases is very weak. Typically, to eliminate such a malfunction, the radiator is cleaned or dismantled and a new element is installed.
Insufficient amount of antifreeze
To deal with this problem, you just need to add some coolant.
Damaged head gasket
A malfunction of the stove may be caused by a burnt-out cylinder block gasket. This problem is determined by several criteria:
- The coolant mixture stinks of exhaust and fuel;
- Thick white exhaust from the muffler;
- Engine oil smells like coolant.
On VAZ 2114 the heater fan does not work
Broken motor
Often the electric motor that powers the stove burns out, but in most cases, to fix this problem, it is enough to repair this element of the heating system. You should check whether the temperature relays are functioning normally. You also need to check the condition of the ignition relay.
Decreased pressure
The stove will not be able to function normally at idle if the pressure in the system is not at a high enough level. A special pump is responsible for this process in the heating system. It is not difficult to determine that this is precisely the problem with the operation of the heater. When the car moves, heat enters the cabin. This means that the pump has become unusable and needs to be replaced. Professionals recommend installing duralumin pumps, which are characterized by increased efficiency and long service life.
Replacing the heating motor (fan)
When the reason why the heater fan on the VAZ 2114 does not work has been identified, it is necessary to begin eliminating it. There are a sufficient number of fans on the market in different price categories: from cheap Chinese models, the quality and service life of which are in question, to reliable and durable options, whose cost is an order of magnitude higher.
As evidenced by reviews from owners of fourteenth VAZs, the best option in terms of price-quality ratio are Luzar fans. The current cost of which, today, is about 1200 rubles.
Removing the heater fan on a VAZ 2114 is quite simple - it is located in a special container located in front of the windshield in the hood compartment. The only tools we need are a screwdriver and a set of keys. Let's consider the algorithm of actions by which the stove fan is replaced on a VAZ 2114:
- First of all, disconnect the negative terminal from the battery;
- In the cabin of the fourteenth, under the dashboard, there is a positive power wire for the motor; it must be disconnected ;
- We move under the hood of the fourteenth. The fan casing cover is secured with two screws; they must be unscrewed;
- We remove the “ground” of the motor; to do this, you need to unscrew the nut that secures it to the body of the heater casing from below;
- Open the casing and unscrew the two screws that secure the fan;
- Next, unscrew the screws that secure the air intake grilles to the housing in front of the windshield. We take them off;
- Now you can remove the heater motor on the VAZ 2114, since all its fastenings have been removed. The fan is mounted on a hook located on the body - move it towards you and lift it;
- Once the motor is removed from the hook, you will need to rotate it 90 degrees so that it comes out of the casing smoothly and remove it.
Minor troubles
And the last trouble that a car owner may encounter is the incorrect supply of air masses to the cabin. Fortunately, adjusting and repairing dampers is a simple procedure! You need to take pliers and bend the cable at the flap under the driver's steering wheel. Then the damper will tightly close the air duct again and the problem is solved.
Heater fan (interior heater) does not work
In this article we will look at the main points and reasons why the stove (stove fan) does not turn on.
How can you tell if the heater fan is not turning on? – very simple: with the car running, turn on the heater at 1-2-3 speeds. If no additional “noise” appears, then the fan does not turn on. I would like to note right away that if the fan does not turn on, for example, at speed 1-2, but does turn on at speed 3, then the problem is in the additional resistor or in the heater operating intensity switch.
Let's figure out how the stove turns on in theory. Pay attention to the picture:
- 44 – fan motor;
- 45 - additional resistor (used to regulate the speed of the electric motor, number 44);
- 46- position switch.
Why the stove motor does not work, the main reasons
1. The fuse has blown.
The simplest and at the same time the most unpleasant malfunction, because replacing the fuse is very simple, and at the same time, we do not know the reason why it blew. Let me remind you that if a fuse blows, it means there is a short circuit somewhere (short circuit). In this case, you need to go through the entire fuse circuit and look for the source of the short circuit.
What fuse goes to the stove?
A fuse F7 with a current of 30A is attached to the stove. This fuse is also responsible for the cigarette lighter, headlight washer motor, glove compartment light, and heated rear window. So, if a fuse blows, then in addition to the heater fan, the above-mentioned electrical elements of the car will stop working.
2. Poor contact in the mounting block.
Poor or oxidized contact in the mounting block is also a common disease. In this case, you need to move the block of flagella going to the mounting block.
3. The ignition relay is stuck.
If your stove is malfunctioning, for example, it only turns on when warm, then the problem is in the ignition relay.
It’s surprising, of course, how the ignition relay affects the operation of the stove, but the fact remains a fact. The relay needs to be replaced. By the way, it is located under the instrument panel in the center console.
4. The stove turns on only in position 3 of the switch.
If you encounter this situation, then you need to replace the additional resistor. The fact is that in positions 1 and 2 of the heater switch, current flows to the fan through an additional resistor, and in position 3 - directly to the fan. Therefore, the conclusion follows that the additional resistor is faulty. Additional heater resistor. Inspection, repair, replacement.
5. The stove (heater) switch does not work.
To check the position switch (numbered 46 in the figure), we need a regular 12-volt marker light bulb with two soldered wires. We remove the center console of the instrument panel in order to gain access to the heater switch (How to remove the instrument panel?), then do the following: turn on the ignition; We close the negative wire of the light bulb to body ground, and connect the other to outputs 1-2-3 to an additional resistor (gray, white and red wire in the figure). If the light is on, then the switch is working; if it is not on, then we connect the lamp to the positive wire of the position switch (in the figure it is the blue-yellow wire). If the lamp does not light, then there is a break in the circuit somewhere or the fuse has blown out.
6. The heater (heater fan) motor does not work.
If the heater switch works, there is voltage, but the fan does not turn on, then either it is burnt out, or there is poor contact of the fan ground (the ground is located under the heater mounting nut), or the motor brushes are stuck. The VAZ stove does not work, what should I do?
A stove is necessary for every VAZ-2114 owner who drives his car in the cold season. Before the onset of winter, it is especially important to be sure that your heating system is working properly. One of the common causes of failure is the fuse. It needs to be found, removed from the mounting block and replaced with a new one. There is nothing complicated in this work; even a beginner can handle it.
Why the VAZ-2114 stove does not work: 9 main reasons
The content of the article
Causes of malfunctions
In winter, when the cabin heater stops working, you feel discomfort: it is cold in the car and the windows freeze. To figure out why the stove on the VAZ-2114 does not work, the car should be driven into the garage.
Additionally, we recommend reading the article by our specialist, which describes how the on-board computer of the VAZ-2114 works.
Before starting work, you need to become familiar with the structure of the vehicle's heating system. The structure consists of the following elements:
- heater radiator;
- pipes supplying heated coolant;
- faucet that regulates the flow of liquid;
- interior dampers directing the air flow;
- a fan that creates air flow;
- fan speed controller;
- a pump that creates a flow of heated liquid;
- thermostat, which is responsible for the direction of movement of the coolant.
When all these elements function normally, the car interior is warm. But when one of them stops working, interruptions in heating occur.
If the fan of the VAZ-2114 heater does not work, the reasons most often given by auto mechanics are the following:
- fan failure;
- fuse blown;
- lack of contact in the electrical circuit;
- heater radiator malfunction;
- The thermostat does not respond to temperature changes;
- faucet breakdown;
- low pressure in the coolant circulation system;
- airlock;
- The engine cylinder head gasket was blown.
Elimination of electrical circuit defects
If, when you turn on the heating by turning the handle, the stove does not work and you cannot hear the electric motor running, then first of all the fuse located in the control circuit is checked.
To check its integrity, you need to look into the engine compartment. There is a mounting block in the niche under the windshield. The fuse responsible for the operation of the fan motor is marked F7 and has a rating of 20A.
By replacing it with a similar one, the performance of the engine is checked. If this procedure is not successful, you need to check the contact relay. When the on-board network is turned on, it experiences significant loads. To reduce them, contact relays are used. The same ones are installed in the heater circuit. When the relay is faulty, the fan does not turn on every time, especially when the engine is cold.
The reason may be problems with the contact block. The contact connectors are located in the engine compartment and are exposed to high humidity. Therefore, they are intensively oxidized, this leads to a lack of contact, so the fan may stop working.
The electrical circuit can be restored by disconnecting the terminals and then cleaning the terminals. But if there is severe corrosion, the contacts break, and then the contact group needs to be replaced.
The next part that can affect the operation of the furnace is the switch. The fan speed setting is set by a switch. The internal mechanism includes contacts that wear out over time. Repair is usually impractical; it is easier to replace the switch with a new one.
The resistor included in the control circuit regulates low and medium speeds. If, when moving the handle to the extreme right position, the engine runs at maximum speed, then the reason is in the resistor and it must be replaced.
The last element of the electrical circuit is the electric motor itself with an impeller that supplies air. It refuses to work if the insulating layer of varnish burns through and an interturn short circuit occurs. Previously we used motor rewinding services. But today it is practically not used, so you will have to purchase a new motor.
Problems with the cooling system
When the heater on a VAZ-2114 does not work, reasons other than electrical may lie in the coolant circulation system:
- Air lock . As the coolant cools, air accumulates in the upper part of the radiator. Subsequently, air enters the thermostat and a large circle of coolant movement is blocked. The heater core remains cold. There are many ways to fix the problem. But the easiest thing is to squeeze out excess air from the system. To do this, unscrew the cap from the tank. With the engine running, the cold hose is intensely compressed, causing air to escape into the reservoir. If this method does not work, you will have to disconnect the hose to remove the air lock.
- Radiator . Few people devote time to maintaining their car, and especially the heating system. The internal space becomes clogged with dirt, which impedes the flow of coolant. The outer multi-cellular surface becomes clogged with dust and foreign objects, which interferes with heat transfer. In this case, only cleaning the radiator and replacing the cabin filter will help.
- Water pump . Wear of intake blades leads to a decrease in productivity and, consequently, a drop in pressure. Reduced idle pressure is unable to supply heated coolant to the radiator. Only high engine speeds allow you to create the necessary pressure.
- Low coolant level. An antifreeze level below the minimum provokes airing of pipelines. You just need to add antifreeze to the maximum level.
- Cylinder head gasket . A gradual decrease in coolant level, intense white smoke from the exhaust system and the smell of gasoline (oil) in the tank indicate a burnt-out gasket. Through the gap that appears, antifreeze enters the cylinders and into the crankcase with oil. Replacing the gasket requires removing a large number of parts.
- Thermostat . The operating principle of the thermostat is based on the property of a certain metal to change its original shape when the temperature rises. If the element fails, the coolant moves in a small circle without entering the heater radiator. In this case, only replacing the thermostat will help.
- Faucet. It regulates the flow of coolant, that is, the temperature inside the car. If it breaks, the fluid flow stops. Although it is held on by two screws, it is installed in a hard-to-reach place, under the dashboard, which is associated with certain difficulties.
- Hoses . Connecting rubber hoses become unusable after prolonged use. They crack and break. Through the formed cracks, the system depressurizes, and consequently, antifreeze leaks, air gets inside, etc.
Conclusion
If the stove on a VAZ-2114 fails and does not want to turn on, then the reasons are identified and corrected quite quickly. More than half are electrical circuit components.

Heating system operation
The VAZ manufacturer did not complicate life for itself and its customers by making the heating system on most of its car models identical:
- turning on the regulator, the driver from inside the cabin turns on the supply of antifreeze to the heater radiator;
- before this, the coolant warms up to 90 degrees (approximately);
- after this, the fan is turned on, pumping air;
- the fan on the VAZ-2114 has three speed modes;
- the air flow penetrates from the outside of the heating system inside, that is, into the interior of the car;
- regulating dampers allow the driver to select the zone where the heating will be directed;
- The VAZ-2114 provides heating for the interior, windshield and legs.
Important! If the stove fan fails, the entire heating system of the VAZ-2114 stops working. Stopping the fan does not allow air heated by the radiator to penetrate inside in normal quantities. Instead of the usual 5–10 minutes, heating takes several hours.
Where is the VAZ-2114 heater relay located: diagram
The relay, which is located in the VAZ-2114 stove, is responsible, among other things, for sufficient heating of the car interior. Therefore, if the car does not warm up well, it is time to determine whether the heater is malfunctioning; perhaps the reason lies in a worn relay. The difficulty of restoring a relay is that the part cannot be repaired; it can only be replaced with a new unit.
How does the VAZ-2114 stove work?
The furnace equipment built into the VAZ-2114 operates according to the following principle. When turning the heater tap, the driver activates the supply of coolant or antifreeze. Antifreeze heated to 90 degrees is selected to the radiator; all that remains is to determine the fan rotation mode - here the driver is offered a choice of 3 formats at once.
After setting the desired position of the dampers, the air flow enters the interior of the VAZ-2114, and also blows on the windshield and legs. Without adequate fan operation, there can be no talk of any heating.
Warm air will be directed into the cabin too slowly, which is almost imperceptible for the driver and passengers of the car in the harsh Russian winters.
Heater fuse
If you are faced with a heater breakdown, start checking the reasons with the simplest ones. This is a fuse. When this element burns out, the stove stops working. A simple replacement of the device will bring the heater back to life.
On the VAZ-2114 model, the manufacturer installs F7 heater fuses with a current strength of 30 A. Sometimes replacing a fuse results in the new element burning out almost immediately. This indicates a short circuit. It must be eliminated by going through the entire circuit. In such a situation, it is better to contact an experienced electrician.
Important! It is easy to identify a heater fuse as the cause of a heating system problem. The same element, in addition to the stove, is responsible for the operation of the glove compartment lighting, the electric headlight washer pump, the heated rear window and the cigarette lighter. If these components do not work, like the stove, then the problem is definitely in the fuse.
Element location and replacement
The location of the VAZ-2114 heater fuses may differ slightly depending on the year of manufacture and equipment of the car. But finding the mounting block is still not difficult. In addition, the location of the elements is indicated on its cover.
- The main number of fuses is located in the engine compartment in the mounting block. So just lift the hood, find this box and open it. This is a black structure located near the windshield on the driver's side.
- The mounting block is closed with two latches. By clicking on them, you open the cover and gain access to the elements you need - fuses and relays.
- Under the lid there is a compartment for special tongs. They are needed to avoid damage to other vehicle electrical protection components and relays when removing damaged elements.
- Look at the inside surface of the cover to make sure where the heater fuse for your VAZ-2114 model is located.
- Remove the fuse marked F7 from the mounting block. Check the condition of this item. If it burns out, then the reason for the breakdown of the VAZ-2114 heating system is definitely in it. It is difficult for a beginner to visually identify a broken fuse. Therefore, just take a new element, insert it in place of the old one and check whether the heater works after that.
- If after replacement the stove on the VAZ-2114 starts working, leave the new element in the mounting block, close the cover with the latches and lower the hood into place.
- Start the engine and check that the heater is working. If after a while the stove turns off again and the cause again turns out to be the safety element, then the problem is more serious than you thought. You will have to dismantle the mounting block.
reasons, replacing the motor with your own hands
The main purpose of a car heater is to heat the interior in cold weather. For example, provide +16° inside the car when there is terrible frost outside. The main function of the heater is performed by a fan or motor.
What is a stove fan
A fan is a functional element that drives air through the heater radiator and into the cabin. The fan, along with the radiator, pipes for refrigerant circulation, liquid regulator and air duct, is part of the heating unit. Its purpose is to drive cold air through a heated radiator, creating heat exchange.
Node functions
The heater fan is a motor that supplies air. You can imagine its operation in more detail only during the operation of the entire heating system:
- As the car engine heats up, liquid enters it, cooling the walls of the cylinder block and taking away heat.
- Hot antifreeze enters the heater radiator, and the latter quickly heats up.
- A motor (fan) is turned on, supplying flows of cold air, thereby cooling the element.
- The interior of the car begins to warm up.

Where is the VAZ 2113-2115 heater motor located?
On VAZ 2113-2115 vehicles, the heater motor is located in the engine compartment. It is covered with a protective casing secured with four screws. The fan itself is also supported by bolts and nuts and is connected to the body of the car.
To gain access to the fan in order to dismantle it, you will have to first work in the interior. In particular, remove the wiring that connects the fan to the vehicle's electrical system.
Repair of VAZ 2113—2115 stove fan
Why does the heater motor stop working? There are reasons for this, and there are several of them. However, most often the cause of malfunction is clogging. Dust gets everywhere, including inside the mechanism.
Cleaning the stove fan in some cases helps to improve the operation of the mechanism
Causes and signs of heater motor failure
With the onset of cold weather, correct and uninterrupted operation of the heater becomes more important. But according to the law of meanness, it is precisely at this time that frequent problems are observed that have their own reasons:
- The safety element, designed to monitor not only the heater along with its components, but also the glove compartment lighting, the optics washer motor, etc., fails. This 30-amp fuse is located in a special block and is marked with the number F7. As a rule, the reason for its burnout is a short circuit. A burnt out element simply needs to be replaced.

- The ignition relay is located under the instrument panel. It can also cause problems with the stove motor, as it is connected to the electrical circuit. You can make sure that it is a relay by the following sign: the fan does not work only when the engine is warm (more details about the relay are written at the end).
- The stove radiator deteriorates and scale forms in it over time. The element can be removed and washed with “Mole” or other liquids.
The radiator of the VAZ 2115 stove deteriorates due to scale formation
- Air enters the system, forming plugs. This negatively affects the overall operation of the stove, including the motor. Proper airing of the entire system will help.
- The additional resistor is faulty. If this part is the “culprit”, electricity will begin to flow to the motor only in the third position of the heater operation. Accordingly, in the first and second modes the fan will not turn on, since the current in this case flows through the resistor. The problem is solved by replacing the resistor.
If there is a malfunction, the additional heater resistor must be replaced
- The contacts of the wiring terminals connecting the fan to the car's electrical system have become loose. You need to re-tighten them, and if they have oxidized, clean them.
How to remove the fan
The VAZ 2113-2115 heater motor is removed as follows:
- First remove the side cover of the dashboard from the pedal side.
The side casing cover can be removed to facilitate the process of removing the fan.
- Then the electrical contact is disconnected from under the dashboard - a transition device between the car's electrical system and the motor.
The positive wire plug connects the fan to the car's electrical system.
- The “ground” located on the bolt under the head “10” is also unscrewed.
The negative wire of the fan is connected to the mounting bolt on the body
After this, you need to transfer the work to the engine compartment:
- Unscrew the protective cover hiding the motor.
- Then remove the screws holding it in place.
The fan clamps are simply unscrewed with a screwdriver
- Wires disconnected inside the car should be pulled up.
- After this, you need to remove the top cover of the motor to make it easier to remove.
The top fan cover can be removed in place to make motor removal easier.
- Pull by hand to remove the fan.
Removing the mounting block
You can remove it and show it to an electrician, or try to do the repair yourself. But first you need to dismantle this fuse box.
- Remove the negative terminal from the battery to de-energize the VAZ-2114.
- Enter the salon. Under the dashboard on the left you need to disconnect 5 blocks with wiring harnesses from the bottom side of the block.
- Remove the cover.
- The blocks with wires on top of the block are already removed from the engine compartment.
- Using a 10mm socket and an extension, unscrew the mounting nut of the mounting block.
- Lift the box and you will see several more blocks with wires. They are disconnected, after which the mounting block is completely removed and sent for diagnostics, repair or maintenance.
The replacement procedure is quite simple. It takes literally a few minutes of your time. But DIY repairs save money. After all, for such services at a service station they will charge much more than you would spend on buying a new penny element for the mounting block.
