Installation of central locking in Gazelle minibuses

Door handles

Door handles (external and internal) of the VAZ 2107 are designed for unlocking doors. Over time, these parts can fail, indicating that they need to be replaced.

How to remove a door

Sometimes it becomes necessary to dismantle the door on a VAZ 2107 , for example, for repair or replacement. At first glance it may seem that this event should not cause difficulties, but in fact the situation is somewhat different. The fact is that it is almost impossible to unscrew the fasteners with a regular screwdriver. Therefore, it is necessary to use an impact screwdriver.

The list of tools may vary and depend on the disassembly method. Basic tools:

Door lock VAZ 2107

The door lock of the VAZ 2107 is a part that rarely fails. However, over time, this mechanism may need to be repaired, replaced, or adjusted.

Working with wiring

The most important and most important point of installation is the wiring. All wires must be the length you need, and they should be laid in places protected from external influences, such as water. It is also recommended to use corrugated tubing to protect the wires from wear and tear.

Installing central locking on a VAZ 2107

do-it-yourself process begins with determining the installation location of the control unit. Consider placing the regulator between the shelf and the glove compartment. Next, lay the wires along, decide which one will go to the back door. We will stretch them through the lower curb, under the plastic protective covers on the window sills. Behind the front door we run the wiring under the dashboard. We lay the 12V wire from the battery. It will power the entire device.

Checking work

Before you can enjoy your work, you need to connect the control box to the unit using wires. Then replace the battery terminals. If the VAZ 2107 locks work correctly, then everything is connected correctly. Hello. If there are problems, you may need to go to or somewhere during the connection.

There is no limit to perfection, and in the future you will be able to connect the trunk lock to the central locking, install an alarm or install electric windows. Display a dedicated control button on the dashboard to lock and unlock the door. Installing a central lock on a VAZ 2107 is not the last dream. Almost all your wishes for upgrading your favorite car can be realized.

Installation and connection of central locks

Installing the central locking activator in the front door

Installation of the central lock should begin by removing the door trims and other elements that may interfere with installation. Then holes are drilled in each door to install a metal strip on which the door lock activator will be attached.

Having secured and adjusted the plastic activator, we move on to connecting and laying the wires. The task is to bring the wires into the car interior and connect them to the alarm unit.

In order to avoid moisture getting on the wires and further failure of activators and other devices (power windows, door lights), consider laying the wires along the door in advance.

Avoid placing wires at the bottom of the door, as this is where water tends to accumulate.

Central locking activator wire routing

When laying the wire, also pay attention to the most “problem” area, namely the place where the wires bend in the opening between the door and the body.

Door wiring protection tube

The best option is to use a rubber tube through the pipe. This corrugation will protect the wiring from chafing and kinks.

For a competent approach to the matter, as well as in order to be able to easily identify and find the necessary wires (+12 Volts, ground, control outputs from the alarm unit), it is better to remove the instrument panel (dashboard) completely. Thus, you will not only simplify your work on laying wires, but you will also be able to connect, solder and insulate them without much difficulty.

On a VAZ 2106 car, the instrument panel can be removed quite simply (four self-tapping screws and four nuts).

Twist or solder wires?

We recommend purchasing female and male terminals, as well as a special tool for crimping wires. If the activator fails, you can easily replace it with a new one. To do this, you just need to disconnect the terminals, dismantle the old one and connect a working activator.

Twisting the wires and wrapping them with electrical tape is not a reliable option; in this case, it is better to “twist” + “soldering” + “heat-shrink tube”.

How to connect the central locking to the alarm system?

Since the VAZ 2101-2107 car is not initially equipped with a central locking or electric door lock drives, you can install additional electric drives and connect them to the system as follows.

Central locking connection diagram

The blue-white and orange wires of the 6-pin connector of the main unit of the alarm system are connected through 15A fuses to +12 V DC. Green and blue wires to the vehicle ground or, in other words, “ground”.

The white wire is to the blue door lock activator unlock wire, and the yellow wire is to the green power lock wire.

Most Chinese car alarms, especially inexpensive models (APS 2600 SHERIFF, Pantera CLK 355), have blocks similar in structure. Sometimes it seems that Chinese manufacturers only change the label, but the “filling” remains the same. At least, the 6-pin connector itself with power outputs for locks, as well as the colors of the wires, differ quite rarely.

Having familiarized yourself with the central locking connection diagram, feel free to start connecting the wires and checking the operation of the activators. After successful tests, all that remains is to assemble all the removed parts in place and then carry out a “control” check.

Job done, congratulations! The approximate cost is about 500 rubles, excluding the cost of the alarm system.

Installing the central locking button on a VAZ 2107, VAZ 2105

Today, almost all cars are equipped with central locking (CL), either it is standard or installed together with an alarm system (well, if not central locking, then at least motorizers).

In addition, many alarms have the function of locking the doors when the ignition is on and unlocking them when they are turned off. This feature is very useful and can save your things from the so-called "purses" that ruin everything in your car when you are distracted by other people (mannequins). If the door is closed, you are safe. But this alarm function is not very convenient, because in order to alert a person, or vice versa. release, you need to either drag it across the cabin, or turn off the engine, or use the alarm key fob. It is much easier to make a separate button in the car that will fit well into the interior and control the central locking. The easiest way to do this. use the power window control button. this is exactly what you need. The coloring of the button is presented in the diagram, and the meanings of the pins. in the table. Contact No. Target 1 brown for activator 2 black, weight 3 white for alarm clock 4 12V 5 weight. 6 brown for alarm 7 white for activator

Finally, I want to warn you: you absolutely cannot hold the button in one position or another for a long time. the activator will burn out! You should press for no more than 3 seconds, in fact, a simple touch.

Installation of central locking VAZ 2101, 2106, 2107 classic

A long time ago I wrote in detail how to install
a central lock on the back door, but the computer broke down and everything was erased.
Here is a photo. unfortunately, one thing, but everything is clear. what to look for:

1. Drive mounting plate. sawn.! 2. Choose wires of sufficient cross-section; for laying to the motors there will be losses on thin wires! 3. It may be necessary to remove the small round springs that secure the “mushroom” in its extreme positions. they can resist the drives, which means there is not enough force to move the rod. 4. Definitely! Clean and lubricate the locking mechanisms! otherwise no excuse will move the “fungus”.

It is planned to install additional limit switches on the rear lower parts of the door so that the alarm is triggered when the doors are not completely closed.

Working with wiring

The most important and most important point of installation is the wiring. All wires must be the length you need, and they should be laid in places protected from external influences, such as water. It is also recommended to use corrugated tubing to protect the wires from wear and tear.

Main! Be sure to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery before starting work!

Installing a central lock on a VAZ 2107 with your own hands begins with determining the installation location of the control unit. Consider placing the regulator between the shelf and the glove compartment. Next, lay the wires along, decide which one will go to the back door. Let's stretch them through the lower curb, under the plastic protective covers on the window sills. Behind the front door we run the wiring under the dashboard. We lay the 12V wire from the battery. It will power the entire device.

What is required to install central locking on 2 doors?

  1. A working and installed car alarm system with power outputs for controlling door locks.
  2. Activators, actuators, actuators, solenoids, electric drives or, finally, just central locks - 2 pcs.
  3. The wires are two-core, copper. The diameter or cross-section of each wire must be at least 0.75 square. Length about 3-4 meters.
  4. Plastic clamps - 10 pieces, maybe more, “in reserve.”
  5. Other: electrical tape, heat shrink tubing, wire cutters, screwdriver, soldering iron, solder, multimeter, drill, drill bits, electrical extension cord, etc.

Before we begin directly installing central locks, we will analyze each point above in order, in more detail.

1) In this article we will not talk about how to install an alarm yourself, but we will assume that it is already installed. The cheapest option (about 1,300 rubles) is a simple alarm without feedback.

Which model to choose, how to connect correctly, how much it costs and other questions about car alarms will be discussed in another article. Just a few important points to keep in mind.

Firstly, the main alarm unit must have a connector (usually 6-pin) with power outputs for connecting door locks. Secondly, before purchasing, decide in advance whether you need an additional alarm channel. It can be used to open the trunk or, for example, implement the “light path” function and other similar functions. It all depends on your imagination and ideas, so it’s up to you. 2)

Lock activators are not called by any name, so don’t be surprised by so many names. We will stick to this term. The central locking solenoid most likely refers to an electromagnet, which is most often installed to open the trunk. In terms of power (traction force) it is much stronger than plastic activators, but it is also more expensive.

The approximate price for a regular central locking activator with 2 outputs (two-wire electric lock) is 100-120 rubles. a piece. For 2 doors you will need two activators, the total cost is about 250 rubles. The kit for each activator includes a special strip for attaching the central lock and self-tapping screws, as well as a rod, screws and a metal retaining plate.

3) To save insulating tape, copper wires in general insulation around the insulated conductors, but you can also buy them separately (single-core). The cross-section of the conductor must be at least 0.75 square. The current consumption of a conventional electric central locking drive can reach 5A at its peak.

In auto stores you can choose wires of various diameters, colors and lengths. Some are sold in ready-made installation kits or kits. Individually or “by meter,” most often, single (single) wires are found.

We recommend going to a regular electrical supply store and purchasing a two-conductor copper cable (the individual wire of which has a stranded conductor). For example, a PVS 2×0.75 cable (with a polyvinyl chloride sheath) or a PVS 2×1 mm cable is suitable. These wires are used to connect various electrical appliances, power tools and other machines and devices. The cost is about 12-15 rubles per 1 meter.

You can look for special automotive PGVA wires, which are intended for automotive equipment and instruments. They also have polyvinyl chloride insulation and are undoubtedly suitable for connecting central locks.

For reference: PGVA wires are designed for flexible connection of electrical equipment and devices with a low rated voltage (up to 48 V) in temperate, tropical and cold climates. PGVA wire is resistant to vibration loads, cracking, gasoline and oils. When laid alone, it does not spread fire.

When installing additional devices and using a second alarm channel, carefully study the table with permissible current loads. Most likely, to install a powerful solenoid that will open the trunk lock, an additional unloading relay will be required.

Plastic tape clamps will be needed to secure the wires. Purchase at will, 10 pieces will be enough.

A set of 100 pieces measuring 2.5×100 costs about 50 rubles.

5) Other tools, devices and materials that may be needed during installation.

central locking

For motorists, the comfort system is of particular importance. Isn't it convenient when all the doors, fuel filler door, and rear doors in your car can be locked and unlocked at the touch of a button? This mechanism is connected to auxiliary systems and is called the car's central locking.

The central locking functions can be controlled centrally or decentralized. What does this mean?

Centralized. one electronic control unit for all doors.

  • Decentralized. In addition to one control unit, there are other units: one for each door.
  • As the number of comfort system functions increases, it is recommended to use decentralized control. Therefore, in modern cars this type of control has become widespread.

    Let's consider the central locking device as a comfort system and the principle of its operation.

    How the central lock works

    The central locking system operates regardless of the vehicle's ignition status. On or off. it doesn't matter whether the mechanism works.

    By locking the front door with a key, you activate the microswitch responsible for locking. This happens as follows: from the switch the signal is sent to the door control unit, then to the central control unit, which controls all door units, rear door drive motors, the tank lid and the trunk. All drives are working, the car door is locked. To prevent the electric drive from being turned on again, a microswitch signal is generated in the central locking system. The door is removed from the lock in the same way. turning the key in the lock.

    To lock your car door from a distance (remotely), there is a button on the ignition button or a separate key fob with buttons. When pressed, the signal is sent to the receiving antenna of the central control unit. There the “message” is processed and the command leaves the center to the peripheral devices (on the door, fuel cap and trunk). The drives, activated by a button on the ignition key, ensure that all doors in the car are locked. In addition to locking the door, the alarm is activated remotely using a button. Additional comfort will be provided by remote control of the car's windows. It will cost more, but it turns out to be 3 in one: locking the door, connecting a security alarm and automatically raising the lowered windows.

    It should be noted that in the event of an accident, all doors are automatically unlocked. This is done by transmitting a signal from the safety control unit to the central control unit. And the team leaves the center to work the actuators, all doors are open.

    about the reasons why the central
    locking :

    The fundamental difference between the main types of central locking

    We strongly recommend that you leave the solution to problems related to electricity if you do not know the principle of operation and the purpose of the connected batteries. Connecting a central locking system is no exception to this rule.

    Fundamentally, devices for automatic unlocking/locking of door locks can be divided into 2 types:

    • Central locking with electric drive. Electric activators are installed in the doors. Each mechanism can have an individual control unit or be controlled by a single unit (this is the scheme used on budget cars);
    • pneumatic central locking. The activator rod moves due to changes in air pressure inside the line. At the moment, the system is outdated and not used; in the past, such systems were installed by Mercedes, BMW, VW, Audi. It is not economically feasible to restore such a system or install it yourself. It is much easier to install electrical activators by connecting everything to a unit with a remote control function.

    We will consider central locking with electric drives. Devices of this type are divided into 2 types:

    • with positive potential control;
    • with negative potential control.

    What a control signal is and why it is needed will become clear to you when we look at the operating principle of the simplest central locking system. As an example, let's take the most common scheme on budget cars with minus control. The schematic diagram is taken from the Opel Astra F repair and operation manual.

    How does the simplest central locking work?

    You can immediately see that a 5-wire activator is installed in the driver's door. Some car manufacturers, wanting to save money, do not install a control servo in the driver's door, but only a button.

    What we see in the diagram:

    • S41 – limit switch located at the driver's door lock cylinder. When turning the key to unlock or lock, a negative potential is briefly (about 1 second) applied to the central locking unit.
    • S42 – passenger front door switch.
    • M18, M19, M20, M32 – door activators. M41 – gas tank flap lock, M60 – trunk servo drive; To operate servos, 2 wires are enough, which are called power wires. The potential difference on these wires starts the motor, which moves the lock rod. Depending on which wire has - and which has +, the motor will spin in one direction or the other. The third wire (blue-black) is required by the standard alarm system to monitor the status of the locks.
    • K37 – central locking control unit. To operate, the block necessarily requires a constant + and mass. Two signal wires (white-brown and brown) come to the block from the passenger actuators. In idle mode they have little positive potential. The appearance of a minus on one of the wires provokes closing, and on the second - opening. It is this minus signal that determines whether the central locking is controlled by minus or plus. Depending on which wire - appears on, the unit supplies voltage of the required polarity to the power wires.

    This is exactly how the simplest central locking works, which does not even react to whether the driver’s door is open or closed. The simplest central locking control unit works according to a circuit of two 5-wire relays. We invite you to watch a video that describes in detail the principle of operation and the method of connecting two-wire activators.

    How to implement remote control

    The remote control unit from Aliexpress, attractive for its low cost, has recently gained great popularity. Using a block of this type, you can connect a remote control to a standard system or equip a car with a central locking system yourself, having previously purchased 4 two-wire activators. Of course, there can be no talk of protecting the car from theft. Such a budget central locking control unit can only perform a service function.

    Pressing a button on the key fob replaces physically turning the key in the lock cylinder to unlock and lock the car. Receiving the signal, the control unit supplies voltage to the power wires. Only 6 wires are responsible for the operation of the unit and car locks:

    • constant +, protected by a fuse (in our case - 15A);
    • weight;
    • 2 power wires going to the servos;
    • 2 control wires.

    The remaining wires are connected for light signaling, glass closers, etc.; You can separately power the opening of the trunk or the gas tank flap.

    The unit in question can be implemented not only into a standard system with minus or plus control, but also into a central locking system with a vacuum drive. The remote control unit comes with instructions that allow you to connect the system in parallel with the standard central locking unit. In this case, the functionality of the factory control unit is maintained.

    Central locking device

    The control unit, input sensors and actuators that perform the executive function are components of the “central locking” mechanism.

    The entire system is controlled remotely from the control panel. The remote control is a radio transmitter located in the ignition key handle. From there the signal goes to the antenna of the central control unit. The central locking functions are activated remotely at a distance of up to 10 meters.

    The input sensors in the locking mechanism are microswitches and door limit switches. Microswitches are used in the design of car doors to fix the current position. The limit switch is used to transmit a signal to the control unit and fix its current position there.

    The front door of the car is equipped with a cam mechanism and microswitches that fix the position of the lock. Moreover, the surface of these cams has a special profile. The blocking signal is generated by one of two microswitches, the other. unlock signal.

    Two more microswitches generate a signal from the central locking about the current state. When triggered, they transmit "Unlocked" or "Blocked".

    The locking drive has a lever mechanism. Another microswitch operates to lock its position and determine the current position of the door. If the door is open, the switch contacts close. In this position, central locking cannot be activated.

    Signals from all switches are sent to the electronic control unit. Which processes them and sends them to the central

    block. Then the processed signal is sent to the front door control units and to the rear door lock actuators that lock the fuel tank lid or trunk door. In other words, door control units receive a signal that activates actuators to lock doors and other locks.

    Drive unit. this is the driving device, the door lock

    . It is combined with a gearbox and is a DC motor. The gearbox, rotating the electric motor, gives the mechanism a reciprocating motion. This is how the lock cylinder works.

    In addition to the electric drive, there are pneumatic designs of actuators. For example, the famous German factories Mercedes and Volkswagen used pneumatics in their cars. Currently, pneumatic drives are practically absent.

    about car central locking systems and the principle of their operation:

    Installation and connection of additional elements

    Many cars do not have hood, trunk, or fuel filler door sensors. You can purchase limit switches, connect them in parallel and connect them to the control input. This is how, for example, they install the hood button:

    One subtlety must be taken into account - the “open” position must correspond to a closed state. Installation is carried out in the following sequence:

    • Secure the switch body;
    • Additional wires are passed through the seal where the hydraulic corrector tubes pass;
    • Connect the sensor, and at the same time the siren.

    Now let’s add movement control to the car, that is, the alarm will “know” whether the car is actually moving.
