Where is the Valet button usually located on a car alarm?

StarLine does not respond to the key fob at times

There may be several reasons for an alarm to not trigger correctly. If the problem is intermittent, then you should pay attention to the following factors:

  • The car is parked in a radio interference zone. In urban environments, there may be objects near the car that interfere with proper signal transmission. These could be cell towers, airports, sensitive facilities, or simply a large accumulation of metal parts. Some models such as A6, A61 or A8 are equipped with a special signal amplifier that solves this problem;
  • low battery charge. The car can receive signals from the key fob, but due to low voltage in the system, do not open the doors or do not autostart. This problem is clearly expressed after the car has been idle for a long time or at low temperatures. And it quickly disappears after regular trips, since the battery is constantly recharged;
  • wear and tear of car alarm parts. During operation, car alarm components are subject to wear and tear.

There are cases when the complex does not execute commands due to malfunctions of the control panel. Most often, the problem is a dead battery in the main key fob. Due to a weak signal, the dialogue code does not reach the radio transmitter or is distorted. Accordingly, the central processor cannot recognize it.

It is also worth remembering that in urban conditions the range of the key fob will significantly decrease due to the presence of numerous interference.

The Valet service key is important for the security system. With its help, you can enter programming mode, emergency shutdown of the system, or reset settings to factory settings. Reason No. 1 why it may not work on Starline A9 models and other kits is the lack of a physical connection, that is, a broken circuit.

To check, it is worth disconnecting the alarm unit from the car and inspecting it. There should be no cracks or mechanical damage on the body. Next, you need to ring using a circuit tester for the Valet button and LED. Most likely, this is the reason. After identifying poor contact or its absence, you should solder the wires and insulate the connection.

Owners of the Starline A94 system sometimes complain that the remote control does not respond to key presses. In this case, it is advisable to check whether the key fob button block is turned on by mistake. Entering this mode occurs by clicking on the second and fourth keys. After this, a short signal will sound and the display will show “Block”. Unlocking occurs after a short click on the first and fourth buttons.

Also, the reason for the lack of response (in addition to a dead remote control battery) may be faulty and sticky buttons. In this case, you need to disassemble the remote control (remove the back cover, remove the battery, and then unscrew the fastening bolt and disconnect the case) and clean the contact points of the buttons with the board. If this does not help, then you can order spare keys and install them in place of the old ones using a soldering kit.

Sensitivity adjustment is carried out using a standard screwdriver (there are two adjusting screws on the sensor body). They must be turned while tapping on the car body to determine the optimal sensitivity.

What to do if the StarLine alarm does not arm

Sometimes a Starline car alarm can malfunction and cause problems for its owner. Among the most common complaints.

  1. The alarm does not pick up at 20 meters and does not go off. The reason why the car is not disarmed may be a bad signal. In this case, the car simply does not have feedback from the key fob, and accordingly, it does not perceive commands. In this case, you need to check the condition of the power supply element of the remote control, perhaps precisely because of the weak signal, and replace the battery if necessary. Additionally, you need to check the area for radio interference;
  2. There are also options when the siren goes off spontaneously. The reason for this behavior is that the shock sensor is too sensitive. Both stages (impact and hacking) can be adjusted using a standard screwdriver, reaching the sensor itself (it has special controls);
  3. Sometimes autostart with automatic transmission does not work on the car, and SP lights up on the key fob display. This means that the car tried to start the car four times, but the starter simply did not have enough force. It is recommended to start it manually or increase the duration of its operation. In this case, for autostart it is necessary that the car is in neutral and the parking brake lever is fully tightened;
  4. If the alarm does not work, and additional software errors appear (the car starts and stalls, does not close the doors, etc.), then it is best to reset to factory settings. After this, most of the problems should disappear, but if they cannot be fixed, then it is better to take the car to a specialized service, where qualified specialists will sort out the issue and fix all the problems, perhaps there is a mass loose or there is a bad contact somewhere.

Description of the Valet mode in the alarm

There are situations when it is not possible to use the alarm key fob. The key fob may run out of batteries or malfunction and lose synchronization with the car. In this case, the Valet button will save you. It is directly connected to the alarm and will allow you to turn it off in an emergency without using the key fob.

The Valet mode available in alarms represents a temporary limitation of the security functions of the system. The service mode that turns on allows you to set system operating parameters or ensure the safety of the car when transferred to a car service or car wash along with the ignition key.

Using a service center is important when servicing a car, as it provides a number of positive aspects:

  • car service employees do not receive information about the type and model of the installed system;
  • the serial number of the security system is not determined, which can be used by an attacker to select the code;
  • the algorithm for disarming the security mode is not communicated to outsiders (especially important when using a programmable PIN access code);
  • there is no need to hand over tags and key fobs to service employees.

The mode is used to program a number of alarms, such as Sheriff or Panther. Modern security systems Starline or Pandora are configured via a computer. The ability to program through the service mode is retained, but is used very rarely.

When the configuration mode is activated, it is possible to save some of the security functions. For example, the owner can enable anti-robbery or panic options. In this case, the door lock control on the vehicle remains active.

What does the button look like?

The service activation button for car alarms from different manufacturers may have a different shape and a different color of wire insulation. A common feature of all keys is their small size (up to 12-15 mm) and two wires for connection. Experienced installers replace standard cables with products with insulation similar to standard electrical wiring. This makes it difficult for an attacker to find the button.

Below are photographs of buttons from several manufacturers of security systems.

Where is

The car owner must have information about the location of the Valet service button, as it will help turn off the alarm if the control key fob is lost or broken.

When installing the security system, the user is informed about the location of the service button. When purchasing a used car, the new owner almost always forgets to find out the location of this key and is forced to search on his own.

To find the button you will need:

  1. Locate the main unit of the system, which is located deep in the instrument panel. To search, you can use the positive power wires that come from the ignition switch or battery terminal. You can search by the negative terminal, which is connected to the battery or to the ground nut on the body.
  2. Examine the connectors of the unit and determine the color of the wires going to the setting button.
  3. Try pulling the wires with a little force. If you installed the alarm yourself, the button cables often run separately from the main harness. Otherwise, it is necessary to determine the direction of installation of the key and locate it by gradually removing the covers from the instrument panel.

To search for the main unit on Starline A91 systems or other models, you can try the method of listening to the operation of the relay:

  1. Sit behind the wheel of the car and close the door behind you. It is recommended to park the car in a place away from city noise.
  2. Activate and deactivate the system several times, listening to the source of repeated relay clicks in the alarm processor unit.
  3. After locating the block, it is necessary to study the direction of wiring harnesses.

If the Starline alarm system is programmed for silent operation, then the relay clicks will not be heard. In this case, you will have to search for the block manually.

In Pandora systems, an additional button for settings is located on the antenna module located on the windshield. There is also a standard hidden Valet key. Starline alarms have a similar button, but it is used to call the driver from the car.

More on the topic: Is it worth renting a car with the option to buy it?

There are many places to install the button:

  • behind the glove box trims;
  • on the transition part from the dashboard to the center console;
  • in the mounting fuse block (interior);
  • in the area of the dashboard casings on the sides of the steering column;
  • under decorative sill trims;
  • under the removable ashtray or cup holder housing on the center console;
  • if there are removable covers on the center console (for the diagnostic connector), the button can be located within reach of the hole;
  • snaps onto standard wiring harnesses;
  • under the front seats, especially in the slots of the carpet;
  • behind the brackets and frame of the instrument panel;
  • possible location behind a removable light control panel or backlight brightness adjustment;
  • behind the cover on the left or right end of the instrument panel.

One of the options for installing the button is on the relay body in the mounting block.
Other options for the location of the service button are possible, which depend on the imagination and literacy of the alarm installer. The standard length of the key wire is from 700 to 1000 mm, so it is located quite close to the main alarm unit. Installers do not practice lengthening the cable, since due to increasing resistance the control signal level drops.

What does the button look like?

Installers hide the Valet button from prying eyes, so when returning the car to a service center, they are required to inform the owner about the presence of such a button and its location.

Unfortunately, if, for example, you bought a used car, then you will have to solve the difficult puzzle of finding the sensor yourself.

How to find the treasured button? A car is not a three-room apartment, but there is actually plenty of room for a button in the cabin.

Since the Valet button itself on the alarm systems Starline, Sheriff, Alligator, Pandora, Pantera, Scher-Khan and other popular models is miniature in size, it can be installed in the most secret place: under the fuse box cover, under the steering wheel, behind the glove compartment, behind the instrument panel, behind the radio, etc.

If a visual search around the cabin does not produce results, then it is better to take a simpler route - you need to find the central alarm unit and look in which direction the thin two-wire wire leads.

The button itself in most cases is a small barrel with a diameter of one and a half centimeters, in the center of which there is a slightly recessed (protection against accidental pressing) mini-key.

It is important to know

To determine as accurately as possible what the Valet service key looks like, you need to look at the operating instructions.

The manual for any security system, including Alligator and Sheriff, contains images of all components included in the delivery kit. Depending on the manufacturer, this element may have a different shape and color of the insulating layer of the cable that powers it.

Description of the main appearance features that allow the consumer to recognize and detect the Jack key:

  1. The button is small in size, as a rule, no more than 1.2-1.5 cm.
  2. There are two wires connected to the key - power and ground. The color of the conductors may match the color of the standard cables. Experienced installers of anti-theft systems specifically change the wire in order to ensure hidden installation of the part.
  3. On Sheriff alarms and other models, the button itself is located in the center of the black plastic case. It can be made in the form of a circle or square with rounded ends.

Functions

How to disarm a car using the Valet button is described in a video from the AVTOservis Nikitin channel.

Below we discuss how to configure some functions using the Valet button.

Security activation

In a number of Sheriff brand alarm systems, it is possible to arm the system with a service mode button. You don't need a key fob or key for this.

In order to enable security in the Sheriff ZX-940 complex, you must:

  1. Briefly press and release the button.
  2. Press the button again and hold it for several seconds until the sound signal sounds to activate the security mode.
  3. Pay attention to the operation of the LED indicator, which will flash quickly. If all doors were closed before the button was manipulated, the system waits for the last door to open and close. If at least one door was open during the switching process, the alarm waits for it to close.
  4. Leave the car and close the door. After the last door is closed, the full security mode will turn on. The time period after closing the door and before turning on the security mode is three seconds and cannot be changed by setting.

Deactivation of security

Where and why is the valet button mounted?

In Pantera or Sheriff systems, the button is used when disabling security using a PIN code:

  1. Unlock the driver's door with the key and open it. The normal alarm mode will turn on.
  2. Insert the key into the lock and turn the ignition on/off. The alarm mode is temporarily deactivated (on some models the siren will continue to operate).
  3. The owner will have several tens of seconds (depending on the car alarm model) to get to the service button and press the first digit of the code.
  4. Repeat the manipulation with the ignition switch and enter the second digit.
  5. The third and fourth digits are entered in the same way (depending on the modification of the security system).
  6. After entering the last digit, you must turn the ignition on/off again, which should deactivate the siren.
  7. Try to start the engine.

If the code is entered incorrectly (for most systems, three attempts are given), the alarm is blocked for up to 30 minutes. After this, you can try to enter the password again.

Other functions

Using the Valet button in Sheriff systems, individual anti-robbery transponders are recorded into the memory. It is also needed when programming codes for new control panels. In addition, the Valet key allows you to bind an additional GSM module or configure keyless bypass of the standard immobilizer.

The video from the channel “Pasha and Yura’s Workshop” explains the purpose of the button and describes the features of working with it.

How to enable/disable Valet status

Since it’s easier to turn on “Valet” on “Sherkhan” from the key fob, you just need to remember the combination 1+3 - by briefly holding these buttons when the security status is disabled, you will activate the service alarm mode. It also turns off.

To disable Valet on Sherkhan without a key fob, use a multifunction button, which is displayed in a prominent place in these systems (for Logicar it is combined with an LED, for Magicar it is on the back of the driver call sensor). However, the control algorithms here are more complex than the key fob offers.

To activate the service mode you need:

  1. Disarm the car and turn on the ignition.
  2. Press and hold the service button for 2 seconds (the light should blink once).
  3. Briefly press the button again. After this, the light will flash twice if a PIN code is not set in the alarm settings, or once if a PIN code is set.
  4. If a PIN code has been set, you will need to enter it. To do this, you need to quickly press the button the number of times that corresponds to the first digit of the code, wait for a single flash of light, then repeat the same steps for the remaining digits.
  5. After a pause of no more than five seconds, press the service button. Valet mode will turn on.

The “Valet” button on the “Sherkhan” alarm system can also disable the service mode, while much fewer actions are performed: it is enough to hold it down for two seconds with the ignition on.

If there is no reaction from the defense

To a first approximation, any alarm system is a complex of interconnected electronic devices. The malfunction of any of them, of course, leads to the loss of the function intended only for it and, in general, the entire car alarm ceases to be functional. The list of such electronic components most often looks like this:

  • remote control - key fob. It is a miniature mobile phone. Its task is to send an encoded radio signal to the car alarm receiving antenna. The functions of supplying a control signal can be performed by the driver’s individual tag (card), the secret “Valet” button, a mobile phone, the ignition key;
  • it can be made with or without a display;
  • it comes with both one-way and two-way communication;
  • with its help, knowing how and what to do, you can program some functions of the alarm system installed on the machine;

More on the topic Tiptronic gearbox: what is it and how is it different from others

  • A simple DIY repair will involve simply changing the battery inside. It’s not difficult to understand what to do;
  • The main thing here is to choose the right battery or “pill” with the current expiration date;
  • do not confuse the declared polarity during such repairs;
  • if there is no new battery in the foreseeable vicinity, you can try to revive the old one yourself by slightly deforming it;
  • The functionality of the key fob in this case can be checked by the glow of its LED and how the car alarm itself reacts to the key fob;
  • if the previous key fob repair option did not give positive results, then you can use an auxiliary key fob without a display;
  • if the alarm system begins to respond normally to the key fob signal, then you can repair the main key fob yourself at home in a calm environment;
  • After opening it for repair, you should very carefully inspect all the switching wiring. And especially in the area of the battery;
  • If the repair results are negative, you will have to purchase a new key fob yourself. There have been no problems with their purchase for a long time;
  • Repairs of similar complexity will involve the ability to eliminate harmful interference. It’s hard to even imagine how many there could be. Especially if there is an industrial facility, shopping or exhibition center nearby;
  • It is unlikely that you will be able to simply roll the car to the side - the car alarm will go off with all the ensuing consequences;
  • but it would be quite reasonable to use the “Valet” function of the car alarm. To the extent that you can carry out the necessary repairs at the nearest alarm service center.

How the button works

The button is used when the alarm is enabled or disabled. When you press a key, a command signal is generated that triggers certain functions. This switches the software into a special operating mode, disabling some of the security options. The algorithm is laid down at the stage of writing programs, and the owner cannot change it. Pressing again returns the security system to standard operating mode.

When using the button while the alarm is on, it is possible to temporarily deactivate the alarms. According to the developers, during this time the owner should calmly enter an individual code and unlock the system. If it does not fit within the allotted time interval, the alarm sounds.

To clarify the procedure for managing the service mode, it is recommended to refer to the operating instructions. Alarms of the same model have been produced for a long time and have different software options, so the activation of Valet mode may vary.

When the service mode is activated, information icons may appear on the key fob displays. For example, the Sheriff ZX-940 system uses an icon in the form of the letter V in a rectangle, which is active while the security complex is in this mode. The Starline alarm uses an icon in the shape of a wrench for indication.

To enable the service mode in car alarms, you need to press the push-button switch or activate the option remotely using a combination of buttons on the key fob. Below are the procedures for turning on and off modes on some common brands of alarms.

How to activate the VALET service mode

Activation is possible in two ways: using a secret button and using a key fob. To activate the button, you must perform the following sequence of actions:

  • open the car using the key (if the central locking does not work);
  • turn on and then turn off the ignition;
  • press the secret button for a certain time (usually more than 2 seconds);
  • an audio message from the siren, blinking of the indicator LED or blinking of the emergency or low beams confirm the activation of the service mode.

If the key is lost, the service mode can be activated within a short time after the doors are mechanically opened. In this case, the sequence of actions is:

  • with the help of special services or independently using generally accepted methods, open the car door;
  • immediately press the secret button (for some alarm models the number of presses may differ; it is better to familiarize yourself with the sequence of actions in an emergency situation in advance);
  • If the car continues to give an alarm signal of the siren, or the hidden button is not found, you should remove the battery terminal, find the VALET button, then reconnect the battery, immediately press the button.

Enabling the VALET mode using the key fob is carried out in the following sequence:

  • turn the ignition on and off;
  • wait more than 10 seconds;
  • simultaneously press two key fob buttons and hold them for a certain time.

For different models of car alarms and key fobs, the combination of buttons may be special. In many cases these are buttons 1 and 2, open and close, open and siren, and others.

Some car alarm models do not have the ability to enter service mode from the key fob.

If the service mode is turned on, the driver is notified about this by an audible signal or a two-way alarm key fob when turning the ignition on and off and starting the engine.

If the “Panic” mode, provided in many modern alarm systems, is activated, the VALET mode is temporarily deactivated, and all security functions of the car are activated.

Where is?

Since the Jack button performs an emergency disabling of the security mode, it should be located as secretly as possible so that the criminal cannot use it.

If the installation of the anti-theft system is not carried out independently, a specialist can install the key anywhere in the cabin. The car owner must be informed where exactly the part is located. In most cases, you need to look for the key under the instrument cluster (it can be disguised in one of the bundles with standard wiring). To prevent a criminal from quickly unlocking the security mode, the installer could wrap the wires and the part itself with electrical tape for more reliable protection.

Possible locations for installing the Jack button:

  • in the free space on the audio system;
  • under the driver's seat;
  • in the plastic trim of the steering wheel near the ignition switch;
  • in the free space behind the central part of the dashboard;
  • behind the glove compartment;
  • under the ashtray;
  • in the area of the parking brake lever.
  • If you need to find the location of the key for the Panther alarm or any other model in the car, you must perform the following steps:

    1. Calculate the location of the microprocessor module, which may be located under the instrument cluster or in the free space behind it. If difficulties arise at this stage, you can use power circuits with a positive contact that come from the battery or ignition switch. Sometimes it is advisable to use the negative output connected to the battery or a standard bolt screwed into the body of the vehicle.
    2. Carefully examine all the pads on the microprocessor module. If the consumer still has the service manual for the alarm, then the documentation will allow you to understand the purpose of the pads. One of the outputs on the microprocessor unit is intended for connecting a service button.
    3. If documentation is missing, it is necessary to check each wire coming from the control unit. Usually the key is connected through a separate connector designed for 2 or 4 contacts. Sometimes, to search, you will need to dismantle the interior trim.

    If you have difficulty determining the location of the control unit, then on Starline A91 alarms and other models you can proceed as follows:

    1. The search algorithm consists of listening to the relay installed in the module. The user must get behind the wheel of the car and lock the door. The engine must be turned off. It is important that the vehicle is located in the quietest place possible, away from roads with heavy traffic.
    2. While the driver is in the cabin, he needs to turn the alarm on and off as many times as necessary to determine the relay clicks. When activating and disabling the security mode, their number must be multiple.
    3. If the control unit is detected, it is necessary to check each wire coming from it.

    If the security system is configured for silent activation or silent security mode, then clicks will not be heard.

    In Pandora anti-theft systems, the settings key is located on the transceiver module, which is usually installed on the windshield or rear window. However, this button is not a Jack; the latter is located secretly separately from the antenna.

    One of the ways to set the alarm to service mode is the secret Valet button. When installing the alarm, the installation location of the button is also determined. As a rule, it is located at a distance of no more than half a meter from the main control unit, in a hidden but accessible place for the driver:

    • under the dashboard;
    • under an easily removable cover
    • under the steering column
    • next to the gas pedal.

    So that the client does not forget where the Valet button is installed, and in an emergency situation does not have to look for it for a long time, Autostudio employees always mark its location on the installation diagram attached to the instructions. If the installation is not carried out in Autostudio, be sure to find the service button!

    Using Valet mode

    More on the topic Reasons for replacing engine oil seals Signs of wear

    In many alarms, to switch to the service mode of the Valet button, you must do the following.

    1. Open the car interior with the key and determine its location. Then turn on the ignition for 1-2 seconds, turn it off and, as quickly as possible, press and hold the Valet button in this position for a couple of seconds.
    2. If everything is done correctly, a sound notification (siren), blinking LED or external vehicle lighting (hazard warning lights, low beam) will confirm the alarm’s transition to service mode.
    3. If you lose the key, you will have to open the driver's door mechanically and immediately press the Valet button. If there is a delay, you will have to reset the battery terminal and repeat the procedure for activating the service mode.

    In some alarm systems, instead of a button, a combination of keys on the key fob is used, which must be pressed and held for a certain time. Details of which buttons to press and for how long to activate/deactivate the Valet mode are described in the instructions for the specific alarm. If you lose it, Autostudio specialists will help you switch to this mode.

    Disabling Valet mode is similar to setting it.

    Turn on the ignition for a while and start the engine, turn off the ignition and press the hidden button. Hold it for 10 seconds until a signal confirms the alarm has returned to normal operation.

    When using the key fob, hold down the control keys.

    jack

    The algorithm for enabling the service mode is most conveniently implemented when it is possible to control the alarm using a telephone.

    This can be done easily and simply in the program.

    It should be noted that in the “Panic” mode (“Anti-Hi-Jack”), used in the event of a car theft, the Valet mode is automatically deactivated and the alarm uses all its security functions in full.

    Keep the location of the Valet button secret from unauthorized persons. In case of violation of the normal operation of the alarm, failures and frequent alarms of the siren, transfer the alarm to service mode in exceptional cases. Try to visit the installation center as quickly as possible to identify and eliminate the causes.

    In all Autostudio branches in Moscow and St. Petersburg, you will always receive qualified assistance in repairing and adjusting the security device installed on the car. Just call any of the phone numbers listed on the site.

    What is the Valet button for in a car?

    The main purpose of the Valet button in a car is to mechanically disable the alarm system, after which the car owner can start the car using his original key. It is not uncommon for situations when the battery in the alarm key fob runs out or for some reason the immobilizer tag becomes detached from the control unit, after which the system does not detect the key and it is not possible to start the car.

    In order not to take your car to a service station and not to spend extra money on using the services of professionals, you can try to find such a Valet button, press it and start the car with the key. Such a button can be installed both at the factory and in service centers during the installation of security systems. Subsequently, the masters, handing over the car to the owner, indicate to him where such a button is installed. Also, if a car is purchased on the secondary market, then usually such questions do not arise; previous owners may not even know that such a function is available in the car.

    Why is the “Valet” button needed in a car and where is it located?

    It is necessary to understand that the Valet button is not a universal way to steal a car. However, it will be impossible to open the car and start the engine without a key. Most often, such buttons are located in secluded places, and car thieves will simply spend an incredible amount of time searching for them; therefore, it is not possible to steal a car in this way. Therefore, there is no need to think about the possibility of deactivating the Valet button, and thus increasing the security of the machine.

    Where to hide the Valet button when installing an alarm?

    In Starline alarms, you can disable the Valet mode using the key fob, provided that the remote control is equipped with a display.

    The algorithm of actions will be as follows:

    1. You enter the security system setup menu. To do this, you need to hold down one of the keys to activate the cursor selection of functional options. The button number depends on the model of the anti-theft complex.
    2. The cursor then moves on the screen to the position of the indicator with a wrench and the inscription “Valet”. The user presses the button on the communicator with the open lock icon once. The security system siren will sound three times, and the external lighting devices will blink three times. This refers to hazard warning lights or side lights, depending on which optical elements the anti-theft complex is connected to. The communicator should emit a melodic signal.
    3. The indicator with the letter Z should disappear on the key fob display. Often, after disabling the service mode, the turbo timer and immobilizer settings are lost, so they need to be restored.

    Deactivation of the service mode using the example of the Alligator L430 alarm system:

    1. The ignition system in the car is turned on and off.
    2. The user presses a key and holds it for two seconds. This must be done within fifteen seconds after the ignition is turned off. If deactivation is performed using the remote control, the locked and unlocked keys are held for three seconds.
    3. If the service mode is successfully deactivated, the alarm siren will sound twice. The system status LED should turn off.

    On the Alligator C250, disabling the service mode is done as follows:

    1. The driver gets into the car, activates and turns off the ignition system.
    2. Within ten seconds after the last shutdown, the Valet button is pressed once.
    3. The siren should beep twice and the LED indicator will stop blinking.

    If you have a remote control, then deactivating the mode on the Alligator C250 is done as follows:

    1. The driver gets into the car, the key in the lock is turned to the “ACC” position, and then immediately to “OFF” or “LOCK”.
    2. Over the next ten seconds, the controls on the communicator are pressed with the lock open and the loudspeaker crossed out. These buttons must be held for 3 seconds.
    3. To confirm, the siren will sound twice and the LED light will stop blinking.

    In Sheriff ZX 750 systems, the mode is deactivated as follows:

    1. The driver activates and deactivates the ignition.
    2. Over the next five seconds, the Jack button is briefly pressed and released. There is no need to hold this element.
    3. If the alarm status diode goes out, this indicates a transition to the service maintenance mode.

    Disconnection methods

    Using the key fob, the alarm is turned off as standard, and using the service button - emergency (emergency). In order for the system to unlock the engine, which eventually starts, working power supplies must be installed in the remote control.

    Emergency mute

    If you need to perform an emergency mute when the alarm mode is activated, use the key fob. When you press the button with the lock closed, the alarm will turn off the siren, the security will remain on.

    To deactivate the siren while searching for the Valet button, you need to remove the terminals from the battery.

    The Michael MNS channel in its video showed how to turn off the sound alarm yourself using the Starline key fob.

    How to turn off the alarm from the key fob?

    The button with an indicator in the form of an open lock is pressed briefly if standard security has been previously turned on. If silent deactivation of the protective mode is required, on the communicator screen the user must move the icon to the position of the indicator with the inscription “ARM”. Then the corresponding button on the key fob is pressed. In confirmation, the vehicle will blink with a double flash of external lighting devices.

    How to turn off alarm systems of different models without a key fob (step-by-step instructions)

    Push-button alarm deactivation without a key fob will be different for Starline models:

    • A1, A2, A4, 24V;
    • A6, A91;
    • A8, A9;
    • A61;
    • moto V-5;
    • B6/B9, B6/B9 dialog, A62/A92 and B62/B92;
    • A93, A94, E95.

    Deactivation of alarms Starline A1, A2, A4, 24V

    Starline A1, A2 and A3 systems are assigned the factory value of personal code 11.

    Without using a personal code, the system will turn off like this:

    1. The car door must be opened with a key. The siren will begin to play alarm signals, external lighting devices will switch to blinking mode.
    2. Over the next 20 seconds, the ignition is activated. During this time, the user must have time to press the key to enter the service mode three times.
    3. The ignition is turned off. The protection function should turn off and the power unit should be unlocked.

    When using a personal password, deactivation of the security mode is done as follows:

    1. Door locks are opened with keys. Alarm mode is activated. The user now has 20 seconds to insert the key into the lock and activate the ignition.
    2. Using the Valet key, you enter the first character of your personal password. The number of “clicks” must correspond to the code symbol. For example, if it is 4, then the button is pressed four times.
    3. Then the ignition is deactivated and turned on again.
    4. Using the service key, the next password character is entered.
    5. The key in the lock is set to the “Off” position to turn off the ignition. If the individual password is entered successfully, this will disable the security. The vehicle's exterior lights should flash twice.

    Deactivation of the Starline A6, A91 alarm system

    If the key fob is broken, in order to completely disable the A6 system using a personal code, follow these steps:

    1. The vehicle door is opened with a key, which will activate the alarm mode. External lighting devices and siren will start working.
    2. The key is inserted into the lock and the ignition is turned on. The power unit does not start when performing this task.
    3. Using the service button, the first character of the password is entered.
    4. The ignition system in the car is turned off and activated again.
    5. The second digit of the personal password is entered in the same way.
    6. The ignition in the car is turned off. If the code is entered correctly, the security function and alarm signals will be deactivated.

    Deactivation of the Starline A8, A9 alarm system

    For these models, the deactivation process looks like this:

    1. The vehicle door is opened with a key. The siren will sound.
    2. The ignition system is turned on. The user has twenty seconds to press the service button four times.
    3. The ignition is turned off. If deactivation is successful, the siren will sound two times and the external lights will also blink.

    Deactivation of the Starline A61 alarm system

    If the personal code for controlling the A61 is not used, then to turn off the alarm after activating the ignition, the user presses the service button three times. This will unlock the door locks.

    If there is a password, deactivation is performed as follows:

    1. The door opens with a key. The siren will turn on and the vehicle's external lights will light up four times.
    2. The ignition system is activated.
    3. The secret password is entered. The number of clicks on the Valet button must correspond to the number. If the password is unambiguous, then after entering it the alarm function will be deactivated. When using a two-digit code, you need to turn off and turn on the ignition system again, and then enter the next digit.
    Video: emergency arming

    The AVTOservis Nikitin channel in its video described how to urgently activate the protective function on Starline alarms.

    Deactivation of Starline moto V-5

    The action algorithm for deactivating this model looks like this:

    1. When activating one of the controllers on a scooter with security enabled, you need to wait until the siren sounds turn off.
    2. Then, within three seconds, the user must activate and disable the ignition system three times. As a result, the diode light bulb will briefly switch to a constant glow mode, without blinking. This indicates that all previous steps to turn off the alarm were performed correctly.
    3. Within the next 5 seconds after the LED light goes out, you must turn the ignition on and off three times. If the security function is disabled, the siren will sound a double signal. The light will stop lighting and the power unit lock will be deactivated.

    Disable models B6/B9, B6/B9 dialog, A62/A92 and B62/B92

    Without using a personal password, deactivation on these models is performed as follows:

    1. The car door opens with a key. The siren and external lights of the vehicle will sound.
    2. The ignition is activated. Over the next 20 seconds, the user must press the button to enter the service mode three times.
    3. The ignition system turns off. If the user has previously configured the automatic activation of the protection mode, then the ignition is turned on for at least ten seconds. Then it is turned off.

    To disable the Starline alarm if you have a personal password, you need to do this:

    1. The door opens with a key.
    2. In the next 20 seconds, the ignition system is turned on. Using the service button, the first digit of the code is entered.
    3. The ignition is turned off. If a unique password is used, the security mode will turn off. The vehicle's exterior lights will flash twice.
    4. When using two- or three-digit passwords, the ignition is turned on and the next character is entered.
    Video: disabling the A92 alarm

    The Pandora Store channel in its video showed in detail how to disable the security function in the Starline alarm system on anti-theft systems version A92.

    Deactivation of modern Starline models: A93, A94, E95

    Disabling modern models using a service password is performed in the same way as deactivating alarms B6, B9, etc.:

    1. The car opens with a key.
    2. The ignition is activated within 20 seconds. Use the Valet button to enter the first digit of the code.
    3. The ignition system turns off.
    4. If the password contains more than one character, the ignition is turned on and the next digit is entered.

    The algorithm for entering it is identical, but the only difference is that the code can consist of four characters.
