The intake of air entering the SUV interior from outside is carried out using a blower fan through the air intake. Before entering the heater, the air passes through the radiator of the cooling system, where it heats up and flows into the cabin through a cleaning filter. The interior heater of the UAZ Patriot has special nozzles through which warm air enters the cabin when the heater is turned on. Installation of additional equipment
I wanted to talk about the nuances of installing additional equipment. Installation of boxing (armrest), electric glass lifts. It's not that easy to do, but it's not very difficult either:
1.Installation of the box (armrest + stove). There are no brackets (embedded elements for fastening the box), in general, I had to go to an auto repair shop (we have one in Novosibirsk) to purchase these brackets (since they are not sold at official dealers and stores). Afterwards, it was necessary to try on the box, to adjust and mark the places where these brackets would be attached (welded), in general, with the participation of my father, neighbor and friend, and a welding machine!!! this procedure has been completed. The box did not sit in place the first time, but after a while, after adjusting the entire structure, everything fell into place. Regarding the number of participants in this action (it was a Sunday), so to speak, a rally of motorists in one place, I think many will understand!! ! when you come to your garage cooperative and observe actions in the form of many people who are engaged in various types of work (car washing, home tuning, improving cars and of course those who came to barbecue :), who huddle in small groups.
But all this was the first stage...
2. Afterwards it was necessary to install an additional stove, the brackets of which were also welded at the first stage. What I want to say about installing an additional stove, as sad as it sounds, but without removing the panel (torpedo), this can be said to be impossible to do( Only if you are just doing collective farming!!! a regular tee is cut into the hose that goes to the main stove, but the problem is that clamps will appear, and this is already fraught with problems in the form of a coolant leak).
In general, if you install factory pipes (tees), then this will have to be done!!! After all, we are doing it for ourselves. I don’t want to talk about removing the panel yet, because using cunning and ingenuity, on the website uaz.ru, I obtained a (manual) for removing and installing the panel (torpedo), one thing we can say is that it is very heavy!!! , at least together, and a lot of swearing.
After removing the panel (torpedo), factory pipes were installed, to which an additional stove was connected, at the moment, the stove is working!!! (but since I am not an electrician, the wiring is not connected), upon arrival home I will contact to an electrician I know (a neighbor in the garage), there is also a nuance with connecting the electric valve, which needs to be connected to the speed joystick of the main stove so that it works at the 8th division, maybe I’m wrong because I’ve read a lot of descriptions and now my head is confused). I think there won't be any big problems with the connection. One thing I can say is that one stove is enough for me, I have no complaints about it!!! as it fries very well. In general, it’s up to everyone to install an additional one or not (but the second one will just be a stoker for torture), and one will be enough up to -30C.
3. Installation of electric window lifts. It all started when I remembered that on a working Limited Patriot (Iveco diesel), when removing the door trim, I saw wires and chips to connect the rear electric window lifts (Patriots did not have rear electric window lifts until 2011, but there were simple meat grinders, even in the maximum configuration!!!), in general, with firm confidence that the same wires were installed on my 14-year-old Patriot, I decided to install this upgrade, did not check the presence of wires, and with 100% confidence that they were there, I bought motors, came to the garage and began to remove the door trim; in general, the result of the removal surprised me, there were no wires!!! I didn't believe it!!! after all, the thought that a Russian manufacturer of auto components would assemble wires for a separate package of the Patriot did not even occur to me!!! but the result is the same!!! Having checked the presence again with a flashlight, I stated that they were not there! One thing was good that the wires for the speakers were there and I could install them without any problems, in the end I had to go to my neighbor (in the garage) electrician and negotiate on installing the wires, then disassembling the interior,,, it included removing the plastic struts, removing the front seats and flooring. A couple of days later I took the Patriot to install the wiring, after a day of work I came and picked up the car, then checked the motors and further installed the motors (in their standard places), then changed the usual door armrest to door armrests with a window lift button. After assembling the interior. The result is that now rear passengers can lower and raise the rear windows with a light hand; on the driver’s armrest there is only control for the two front windows.
4. A towbar was also installed (with a socket), the towbar most likely will not fit in place, and you will have to use a file, but this is already a complaint to the manufacturer of the towbar. There are no complaints about the socket or the quality of the wiring.
5.Audio system. Everything is very simple, since audio preparation in the form of wires and embedded elements is present, so you can simply put everything in place and connect it.
6. We also replaced the standard wheels with original alloy wheels, complete with all-season tires Toyo 235/70R16 from which I get good impressions. On the road to Ufa I bought (a toad was crushing), a set of Nokian Nordman with the same size as Toyo but with spikes, which helped me out on the road in the area from
Ishim (Tyumen region) to Satka (Chelebinsk region) where there was freezing rain. Gradually, Classik turns into Comfort, well, maybe someday it will turn into Limited, but that’s another story...
7. Hood shock absorbers were also installed (which UAZ stopped installing on the Patriot at the end of 2013, these shock absorbers were purchased at the same auto analysis), the effect with them is of course different! minimum actions. With the factory hood support, there is more hand movement. Installation does not take much work, instructions and everything you need are included (shock absorbers and fasteners for the wings, instructions).
8. The hood was also adjusted at the same time (by ANOTHER chiropractor Oleg). It is better to do this immediately after purchase!!! This is from my own experience, I didn’t check it right away and didn’t set it up, the result: in the right corner, closer to the windshield, the paint on the hood is a little worn. It is also better to perform the same procedure (for adjustment) with the bumpers, since there is a possibility of the same abrasions in the places where the bumpers and the body come into contact. I would like to note that during the Novosibirsk-Ufa haul, about 7-10 chips formed on the hood, and just below the headlights (on both sides), I think a hood deflector would have helped, but as I understand it, it has quite a few opponents and admirers, so I didn’t worry too much (But of course it’s not pleasant, but this is exploitation). Well, as for the fact that you don’t feel sorry for the Patriot (Dromo driver’s opinion), I think this is not so, because your car is the result of work and determination, but these are all words, the main thing is actions!!! don't hit the car, and your relationship with it will be excellent.
9.I also tinted the rear part of the cabin, I didn’t do it myself, now you don’t have to worry about unnecessary glances into the luggage compartment.
10. I changed the new trim (of the trunk, covered with lint) to plastic from the old-style Patriot, now I can easily load any type of cargo without worrying about bumps and contamination of the trim.
